Hi,

When doing a "pull-off", as far as i know the common technique is to flick the string downward. However, it seems easier to me to flick it upward instead. Is it ok or is it a bad habit ? I'm not big on legato playing and I'm willing to improve that area of playing, so maybe i have to start on good basis.

Thanks,
Phil

I would say downward motion is what is used most often, but it depends on situation. Muris gave some nice detailed explanations, I agree there.

I suggest you focus on doing downward motion while practicing, it will all fit into place later when playing.
