Just wanted to let you know that I just got home from my local music store and have unpacked this (very heavy) baby (see pic) rolleyes.gif
Attached Image

I´m sure quite a lot of you have own it as well and I hope you are still as happy with it as I am at the moment. wink.gif

I used to be a advocate of the "amp modelling by software" school, but that was mainly because I was to greedy & lazy to buy a REAL amp.
But having bought my lovely PRS (here´s the link again: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...showtopic=34746 biggrin.gif )
it felt more and more like driving 50meters round the corner to buy some butter and bread with a Ferrari.

Zakk recommended the JVM series in a "Looking for new amp" thread - so this was good enough for me to do some research and BINGO! - I could not find one negative review at all - quite the contrary, most of the reviews were very, very good indeed.

Honestly people - did I have a choice?! Nah!
It seems as new (expensive) gear just clings to myself on the way out of the shop - and before I get busted for being a shoplifter I´m paying of course laugh.gif laugh.gif

Nice! Which combo is it?

It´s the 205C:
# 50W power
# All-valve, with 5 x ECC83s, and 2 x EL34s
# 1x Vintage 12" + 1x Heritage 12" Speaker (Celestion)

It does - but atm I´m using the "silent recording" mode and that limits the awesomeness potential somewhat! laugh.gif

Excellent for EVERYTHING. I have yet to come across a genre that the JVM can't handle easily and with a great sound!

Nice amp! I think you are gonna be really happy with it. You can also get a extension speaker cab later if you want to expand. But it'll be great as is.

Thank you all for your nice feedback - confirms my decision!
And here´s an absolute amp - noob question:
Is it correct, that while "silent recording" the "Matser Section" of the amp is disabled/has no effect on the sound?!

Thanks for your patience & feedback! wink.gif

In silent recording mode the power amp is turned off, you are only working with the preamp.

Yes I have read about that - and the consequence of that is:
-) Master EQ does "not work"
-) Silent Recording will not give me the same dynamics in my recordings I get through the cab

am I correct?

Thanks for your Feedback!!

Nice amp!! smile.gif

I don't have any experience with that amp in particular but EQ sits in the preamp- and prescense sits on the poweramp section, which you will lack.

Ahhh - makes sense! Thanks for the input!
Pity though....now I have to look for a good mic as well...which means a trip back into the lions den (aka music store where gear tends to "attack" me) wink.gif
