Hi!

My name is Jessi and I'm from Germany. I'm very old now (my hair starts to get grey and my life seems to be over biggrin.gif ),
but it just came into my mind to play an instrument.
And its told that it's never too late to start playing guitar. I must say that I never played any instrument in my whole life
(my mom did even forbid me to play a flute because she hates it) BUT: I'm sure I'm a wasted talent if I don't try :ffp:

Well, my taste in music is maybe a bit different than yours. I hear girls stuff like FOO FIGHTERS, Jack Johnson, Bruce Springsteen,
Richie Sambora (sometimes wink.gif ), Mark Knopfler (just the instrumental stuff - don't like his voice biggrin.gif ).
Sometimes I like listening to classical music.

Yet I apologize my bad english, when my private translator isn't present (even if he is attended, english isn't getting better smile.gif )

Ok, I'm happy to be part of this great community and I hope to learn how to play a guitar, at least a little bit, before I get .... 40?

Hello,

You are never to old to learn in instrument, and since you aren't even 40, you aren't that old.

I recommend starting here:

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/instructor/Bear-Rose/

Good luck, and welcome to the community.

PS. We have a lot of people on the forum with English as a second language, and we even have a few Germans. There is no need to worry about not having mastery over the English language.

Willkommen Jessi smile.gif

You're right that it is never too late to start learning guitar and we're all here to help.

I also agree with Nihilist with checking out the lessons of Bear Rose, they cover really important basic techniques like strumming and chord shifting smile.gif

Hi and welcome. You are certainly never too old to learn an instrument, as long as your fingers still obey your commands wink.gif I'm a German too and some between 30 and 40 wink.gif Everybody here is very nice and helpful. You will have a lot of fun and especially in the beginning you can make progress very fast.

Ich wünsche dir viel Erfolg und Spaß hier auf GMC.

and btw, Richie Sambora is really awesome!
