Thanks for your kind words Monte,
and welcome to GMC!!  The idea for that kind of trill is to use 2 fingers insted of just 1, gives you more speed with less effort actually. So it's just like you said,ring and middle finger on the same fret, one at the time,hope this helps.

In Muris "Bb-Minor Phrasing Advanced" lesson is a nice hybrid picking part (0:20) for example ..
