Hello guys, here is my contribution to the SI boards

Attached Image

Short info on me
:

My name is Sigge Bjerkhof, im 29 years old living in Copenhagen, Denmark. Ive been playing music since i was 16 years old, i lost interrest in music for 6-7 years, but joining GMC made me want to play music again:)
I primarily like funk, jazz and rock music but i can enjoy a good metal shred as well now and then biggrin.gif

Now lets get started.

This is a somewhat slow funky track, and the solo should be pretty easy to approach, i focused mainly on creating small melodic phrases, that flows with the track.

Techniques used :
Vibrato
Slides
Hammer-on
Alternate Picking

Scales used: (plus some small chromatic runs)

Start by playing something - a bend, a riff, a scale, a song - very slowly; if you make a mistake, start over; do this over and over, until you can play it flawlessly - and I do mean flawlessly - many times in a row. Next, gradually increase the tempo. Eventually you'll be flailing like a madman.

Great solo Siggum... as for lesson.. I'm gonna be honest here.

This offers some nice licks to learn, but I wish you supplied some of the theory behind the playing so that I could actually learn something other than playing the licks..

Just my opinion, please don't kill me tongue.gif

Hi mate,

No problem, i understand what you mean. This was my very first time doing something like this, and there's loads of room for improvement, next time i will try to go more in depth, thanks Iluha smile.gif

Can you be more specific? when you say "theory behind the playing" what exactly do you mean? do you mean some explanation to the seperate video parts?
Individual note break downs in relation to the chord structures? how in depth does he need to go??

not "killing" you just trying to get a better idea of what you`d like more of smile.gif

For example, why you choose certain notes, or why some patterns sound good, sorry it's a bit hard to explain tongue.gif
