Im thinking about joining the jazz band, which is going to be at the highschool i am entering this year as a freshman. Anyway, do you guys know what i would need to know to be accepted into it as a guitarist?

Surely they can't expect too much from you.. I figure they teach you a whole lot. I would buy one of those jazz books that you play along to from Guitar Center or something and practice with it.. and learn some chords.. I doubt they require much more.. but I SURELY could be wrong.

Yes you have know a few jazz standards. They are a little different than rock songs - so a suggestion would be to attend a few 101 lessons where you have a look at some standard jazz songs. There are plans to cover that in Masterclass too! /Kris |
