Cool tunes mate! Well, this is the idea for this week.
Creativity Work: You will analyse some of these songs structure and harmony. This is a template of what you should do. Name of the song: Name of the band: Structure // What is happening? // Chords & Scales Structure: You will divide the tune in Intro - Riff - Verse - Pre-chorus - Chorus - Solo - Part C and so... You can add the letters A, B, C to the sections when you find different ones in the same tune (Ex: Verse A, Verse B, Chorus, Solo A, Solo what is happening?: Here you will describe each part. You can explain how is the part, if it has vocals, screams, melodies, harmonizations, how much is last, how many measures, etc. Every information that could be useful to understand the part. Chords & Scales: Here you will post the tonality, the chord progression and the scales used for the melodies and solos. Post you analysis using this concept here in one week. Technique Work: Regarding technique we will choose some lessons the next weeks, for this week I want you to work on the first lesson of my Intensive Technique Course. LESSON #1 – WARMING UP & ENDURANCE Work on this exercises and record yourself playing it in 6 days. Concentrate on the sound, the volume of each note (it should be the same for each note), not on the speed. Play it the faster than you can but the limit must be when you start to loose clearness. This would be all for this week. Do you think that you'll be able to have all the videos by the next Wednesday? -------------------- Visit my Personal Board

This is something i don't do that much but it is a really good practice for me This depends on how much time do you have and how much time does it take to you... If you work on 1 song is ok since this are complex lessons, but if you make time to work on more it is also ok. One more question.. do you have any tune composed by your own? -------------------- Visit my Personal Board

Hi mate! Got it! The technique exercises sound really good! Great job!! The exercise number 3 is the one that seems to be more difficult for you but that's because finger 3 and 4 usually has less independence. The next step with this ones would be to increase your speed but also to play them for some minutes without stopping, have you tried it?
I'll be back regarding the song's analysis and with new assignments but I would like to know... are you working on any lessons now? -------------------- Visit my Personal Board

As promised here are this week tasks Hey mate! You did a great tutorial for this song! It's very clear, great job! I followed the whole song and I noticed that it has the chord progressions and structure of a classic metal song, mostly like the power metal bands. The only different thing that I noted is that they modulate in the solo to C minor and then they go back to G minor again for what you called "bridge" and the last chorus. That's a very interesting idea used. Most of the chord progressions are the kind that bands like Maiden, Helloween or Running Wild would use... Our next step will be to create a song based on this structure, and as this is a "exercise" song we can borrow some ideas from this song. Let's take the structure "melodic intro - intro riff - verse - pre-chorus - chorus (same than intro) - verse - pre-chorus - chorus - solo (modulated) - bridge - chorus". So, the first step would be to write a cool intro melody and a riff... what daw do you use? do you know how to program drums? what do you think? -------------------- Visit my Personal Board
