What's up guys....

Today my neck is very sore from extreme headbanging last night! I went to NYC to see Obituary. I've seen them a few times before and I know they always put on a great show. The past 2 CDs they got Ralph Santolla (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1qw48F9HE0) - He in short is...AMAZING. He's been in a bunch of metal bands (namely Deicide) - he is a superb metal guitarist and a pretty good showman. I noticed he has a very good legato and sweeping technique.
I usually HATE drum solos - but the drummer was AWESOME. He actually could put emotion into his playing - from the softest touch to the hardest bash. He did a really bad ass like 8 minute drum solo then Ralph came out and soloed ontop of his solo - haah it was pretty cool.
The entire show was full of head banging and moshing. BB Kings wasn't that packed which was strange (I heard there was also a Bio Hazard show that night maybe that's why?). The bouncers were huge jerks to the kids moshing. They'd kick you out if you did any lame hardcore ninja crap (which I was glad to see) but even if you were just moshing they'd pull you aside which was really lame.
The band seemed to not be as tight as they were the last time I saw them. Ralph was complaining his monitor was too loud the entire show. But over all awesome show, the set was kinda short only like 1 hr and 10 minutes. I still had a freakin' blast - just kinda sucks working today with a sore neck and no sleep! Oh the things I do for metal =)

I'd have loved to have seen Obituary.
