Ok so I'm going through my pentatonic boxes and throwing a few back, metronome is bumping but to be honest, i'm not even with it so I decide to start jammin a few riffs. I am old school so I start playing some old RATT riffs ( intro to Lay It Down )and what do I hear! My thumb dragging cause the way I'm holding the pick. Like I said , throwing a few back.

So I discover this awsome harmonic and I cant stop. Is this the technique of PH's or my ears or beers playing tricks on me?

I execute PHs by turning the pick almost sideways to how I normally strike the string (with the side/narrow part of the pick rather than the normal way to strum). This way my thumb hits just after the pick does so the only sound that you hear is the harmonic. Sounds like you got it to me.

Also PH sound different (logicaly) deppending on the place where you execute them. Practise that for a while and you will get some interesting results smile.gif

Thats just what I'm going to do Ivan. Just dont want to stray to far from the basics. Seem to rememeber something Kris said in the beginner forum not to try and learn to much at once, but it was hard to get away from once I found it!
