Those of you who are into metal probably already know this band, but lately Evile (a British Thrash band) has been generating a lot of buzz.
Publications such as Metal Revolution and Terrorizer are praising this band claiming they are one the best metal bands in recent memory. Kerrang! is even on record for saying that "[Evile is] Carrying the Genre's whole revival on their shoulders" here are some of their songs Enter The Grave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrZvBlk4PL8 Burned Alive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJYTkbemFJY We Who Are About to Die: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qctmuo-OYwg In my opinion these guys are fantastic. I find it ironic that Evile, who is obviously heavily influence by Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth can turn around and show them how Thrash is done (except Testament, those guys still rock). Are any of you guys familiar with this band? Share your thoughts Even if you hate them, I would still like to know peace! |

Yeah!! Dude Evile is bad*ss!
I listen to them all the time. The guitarist legato technique is unparalleled. I agree with you about Testament - my favorite thrash metal band of all time. And their new CD owns! |

I never actually listened to them, but I did made a thread awhile back about thrash metal revivalist in US and parts of SA.
http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...showtopic=16180 You really can't expect old thrash bands to be on the state of mind they were once was back in there scene. I mean look at Exodus and Kreator and there illustrious career as thrashers, they themselves has suffered quite a bit on making a thrash album. I can't even call Kreator and Exodus recent albums as "thrash" because its not really the same. That being said, I think that Thrash Metal as a whole is a young mans genre. Its like seeing a bunch of 40 year old dudes making a punk album, its just not the same... get my drift? Of course, that doesn't stop Heathen from releasing a great demo back in 2005. Considering there age, there music is still heavily thrash influenced to the bone, and they can still make anyone headbang like a madman. -------------------- |

Never been a thrash metal fan, but EVILE just rocks!
Thanks! -------------------- QUOTE ("Steve Vai") Start by playing something - a bend, a riff, a scale, a song - very slowly; if you make a mistake, start over; do this over and over, until you can play it flawlessly - and I do mean flawlessly - many times in a row. Next, gradually increase the tempo. Eventually you'll be flailing like a madman. |

Onslaught to me has always suffered from writing great music. I think there best moment in music was when they got Steve Grimmet of Grim Reaper. He put a nice touch on the vocal part, but sadly In Search Of Sanity still suffered from a lot of boring moments.
Check out my other thread that I posted above if you want more Thrash Revivalist around in US and parts of Germany and South America, mainly Brazil. Also check out Violator. Thrash f****g Attack!! http://youtube.com/watch?v=imeen1wH_08 This post has been edited by VinceG: Jul 18 2008, 08:56 AM -------------------- |
