Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Chris Impellitteri Style by Ben Higgins

It has been a long time since I last posted a REC. I still need to practice this one more but figured I'd post to get some feedback. The ending is very hard for me to get clean!

Hey mate!

This is indeed a very, very demanding lesson! A lot of techniques that require total relaxation and precision - you seem to be doing fine, but there's a certain rigidity, because you are struggling with it still. I think it's a matter of time and constant practice, which is needed to gain that relaxation which will give you the 10 on this one.

I will say 8 because technically, you nailed it smile.gif

Awesome take of this extremely tricky lesson! As Cosmin said, the only thing to improve on this one is to be able to play it more relaxed but this will come with more days of practice, until you feel more comfortable with the speed of those killer licks.

Keep on rocking!!

Wow, now this is a lesson I never expected to see in REC ! ohmy.gif

Someone give that man a medal for having the cajones to give this a go... and it's a very respectable run through as well. It's only the ending where you can say there's any noticeable slip up.

Obviously I know the piece intimately so can tell the little spots where it's not quite 100 % but generally speaking that is solid.

The run at 0:35 is a swine to get because you're ascending with 3 note patterns but the pace is straight 16th notes so getting the rhythm in your head is very difficult. In that area I can hear where it doesn't quite synch. The intro shred lick is a bit awkward too but still, massive respect DG !!

You rock man! smile.gif This is a tough thing to master. Being lucky enough to have Ben's direct feedback there is not much I could add. Your rec takes are always a pleasure to listen!
