Wooow, great idea for competition (and über prizes though I don`t like the DS-1 tongue.gif )

Too bad I lack equipment.... the only thing I have to record anything BUT guitar is fruity loops...

Will the quality of the backing have much to say? For instance backings made by EZ drummer vs. backings made by FL?

Well, as one of the voting options will be "best recording/mix",
the sound and quality of the backing will have an impact on the outcome.
But the most important thing should be the song/composition.

Keep in mind the quality too though, as it can decide the winner if it's close smile.gif

Actually I had never thought about that - but this is a killer idea! Any ideas what the competition would be about?

Thanks, it would be cool to let the instructors compete as well!

Yes I've got a few ideas!
I'll PM you later with a few ideas, and ideas for prizes smile.gif

Are there any requirements for time on the composotion? I reckon style/genre is pretty much everything smile.gif

No requirements, although a 30 seconds or a 30 minutes song would pretty much ruin your chances biggrin.gif
Or....? unsure.gif biggrin.gif
Whatever style/genre you like, pick your poison smile.gif

I could put up both and ask people to vote on the audio, but watch the video if it's more enjoyable.

Well, it's a competition for the members of GMC basically, and not the instructors.
This competition will also help them in trying to develop their songwriting skills.

About the rules for this competition, you need to talk to me smile.gif

I was joking of course, but the idea of an instructor competition sounds interesting.

You have to put it in the uploads thread.
I'll have it up in a few hours smile.gif

You should post a audiofile as well, if it's possible.
So people can listen to the song in standard quality, as youtube compress the sound.

I don't think a video, no matter the quality, willget you less votes smile.gif
Video is just an option in this competition, and as long as your audiofile upload sounds good it should just help.
