First, I really appreciate that you will teach students for nothing Well, I'm playing the piano for about 6 years and the guitar for about one year. I had a classic music theory course, where I learnt about sight-reading, scales, triad chords, transcribing (although I've never finished to transcribe one single song by myself could be a good idea of an assignment!), transposing and analyzing classical songs. I've no experience with more complex chords (this is probably a great problem for a wanna-be-jazz musician ), harmonization, cadences, modes... I have read about them, but never really understood or concentrated. I'm really into rock (therefore I decided to learn the guitar!), but yeah, I think the main issue for this MTP is jazz But rock theory could be another nice point to work on. I've no recent proves of my playing: I didn't feel to make a progress with learning only pieces (maybe you've read my thread "New motivation"), so now I'm learning the guitar from the really beginning I think now I can play chord progression fluently with different strumming patterns. Next point will be learning scale patterns and basic techniques (hammer-on for example). I mainly want to learn jazz for my piano knowledge My teacher doesn't like jazz at all, so we're doing classical stuff (Bach's Inventions, Chopin, Débussy for example) and pop songs like "Against All Odds" from Phil Collins. I know that this will be a long travel to improvisation, but yeah, let's start here This is it from me for now.
