GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Rammstein-songs In Church

Posted by: Nazgul Sep 7 2008, 10:43 AM

Hi there!

In November I'll have a gig with my band. It's a little bit weird, cause we'll be playing in a church and we are allowed to play "evil stuff". wink.gif So, a few days ago I heard that the parson of our commune is a big fan of Rammstein and would like to hear some songs of them. No I don't know what songs to play, 'cause I don't know Rammstein that much. Do you know some songs that are not completely "evil" ( wink.gif ), but also typical for this band? And of course the text shouldn't concern the topic religion (don't know if Rammstein did songs about religion unsure.gif ), 'cause I don't want to scare all people there.

Thanks for your help!

Rammstein often use controversial and taboo subjects as sadomasochism, homosexuality, incest, pedofilia, necrofilia, pyromania, cannibalism, religious images, sex and violence in their lyrics. I dont understand the German language that good so I will recomend u to read some of the lyrics before u play one of their songs in a church.

An easy rammstein song to play would be the song Los from Reise, Reise album.

"Los" is a great Song. By the way the lyrics only make sense in german.
These songs are typical for Rammstein:
Ich will
Du hast
Ohne Dich
Sehnsucht

I wouldn't recommend to play songs like "Asche zu Asche" or "Engel" people could get them wrong.

that´s really weird! I´ve played Du hast with my own band several times, that song is really powerful and easy to play, but you need a keyboard player in your band, (I dont know if you have one) so I´d recommend that song.
but, the fact you play Rammstein stuff in a church is amanzin ph34r.gif

laugh.gif . I would love to play it. wink.gif

I think I'll take all the advice and again ask the parson if he's really sure about that. There will be some "older people". huh.gif

If there are older people play "Ohne Dich" I am sure they won't understand the morbid meaning.
