GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ The Very First Songs I Recorded

Posted by: Dinaga Feb 13 2012, 10:41 PM

Hey guys, just wanted to share the very first songs I ever composed and recorded - with my first band Distant Light. smile.gif
I wrote these songs back in high school and I think these records are about 5 years old. biggrin.gif

It sucks.
I know. biggrin.gif
So please do have fun listening to our awful playing and production biggrin.gif

The fun part is that I'm going to remake the song "Free bird" with my new symphonic metal band Dolia, so I'll post it here when we're finished. This one will have female vocals and keyboards - yaaay!

I'm really looking forward to this because the song "Free Bird" is the first song I ever wrote.
It took me many months to compose it back then and today I have a special kind of love for it. unsure.gif
I never really did it justice! So now is the chance. Stay tuned smile.gif

Okay bro, what sucks about it? You'll definitely have to put the remake on here also! smile.gif

Dinaga my friend, you are way to modest smile.gif these songs are very good! I am sure that now, with your orchestration skills improved, you will make them sound even greater!

Hey! This doesn't sound that bad!! Those are good demos that with some work can become good songs. I should check my old cassettes where I have my first songs. Be sure that they sound much worse than yours! tongue.gif

It doesn't suck at all! You should absolutely remake this song! And put on iTunes you can make some profit out of it!!!

a lot better than my first ever recording. happy.gif

'Free Bird' isnt even that bad, its just the bass drum that lets it down the most.

Hey mates, remember I was saying we're doing a remake of my first song?

Well here it is, with keyboards, female vocals, new guitar solo and a violin solo. smile.gif
Hope you like this ballad. wink.gif It's amateur recording and it's far from perfect (we recorded everything at my home and then I mixed it with Cubase) but I'm really happy we recorded it because it's the very first song I wrote and I never dreamed it would become something like this. smile.gif

Hope you like it. smile.gif
