hey mate! It's cool to see you creating some melodic stuff!!
 I like the idea of this song, the verse and chorus progressions sound good and I think that you will be able to create some catchy melodies over it. I think that adding a "part C" or sang bridge after or before the solo could be good. Also you could make some variations to the last chorus... a beginning without drums? more arrangements? Hey mate! Welcome back to the army!! I'm very happy of see you working on new songs! I'm impressed of the quality of this two songs. I will keep on listening to these ones to make them grow in me. I like how each one has a different feeling. For any reason I connect the first one to some Offspring stuff while the second one to Weezer, but there is also a unique style on them. I'm very interesting in following how these ones evolves, So I'll wait for your updates!
