GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Wouldn't It Be Awesome....

if one day many (if not all) of us GMCers got together somewhere in Europe (or anywhere else for those of us who are in other continents), meet each other in person, have a good chat about music? I think it would kick axe

Yes it would be great, we can hire a private jet and meet all in Kris´s house
I promise that if i win enough money to buy a private jet, I will pick up every gmc´er fom his house and take it to the meeting 
Now seriously i think that soon we will be able to be connected alltogether in some kind of virtual room, in about 5 years.
Meanwhile, we can organice the biggest videochat in the site! all gmc active members and instructors in a video chat, what do you think?
Could be a sunday at 6 pm London time (2pm in America) so we can all be there

I love the original idea of this thread, we have talked about this in the past and I think that it would be so awesome to make it real.
But also, Fortinero's idea sounds much more possible in the short term and I think that we should go for it!! How can we organize this?

Not sure how you could get several instructors broadcasting at the same time though, or is that not what you meant ?

Great idea! We did it from another music Forum where I used to be active and we decided to meet at the German Jemfest as one or two of the Instructors were playing Clinics there, a few of us also met up in London to see one of the members playing with Graham Bonnet (YES, that Graham Bonnet!!!)

Great idea. But we should pick a time that suits almost everybody.

Wow this can really turn out great let's gather some more ideas and see how we could really put this into practice.
I agree on the fact that we should choose a suitable hour for almost everyone and I think the day should be in the weekend so nobody has school or work to go to 
what do you guys think?

I think the idea with instructors having a time slot and then following on from each other is the best one. It'll be more fun, fresh and also there's no pressure on 1 guy to entertain everybody for hours.
Maybe 30 min slots would be more effective if we were to get every instructor doing it..
It could be like 3 hrs then..

30 mins seems less to have a good time and instructor (specially if its you Ben
) 1 hour slots is better (I'd even like 2 hour slots coz I don't have much to do now)And, I'd also like the other instructors to attend someone else's chat session. Like Cosmin, Ben, Alex and Todd attending Gab's session, and so on.
It'd be awesome. I think you guys would be willing to give a whole day here. Wouldn't you ?

Yes, but we have to remember not everybody has the time to sit in on a chat all day.. so I think we should aim for quality not just quantity.. but maybe an hour or even 45mins would be cool. There's a few instructors, including Todd and Kris, so the time would add up to be quite a lot

If each of us would focus on our specialty, we would offer great quality time and believe me, after two hrs of real FOCUS, you are not able to absorb too much

a chat marathon sounds cool for a start
But let's be honest, of an one hour chat, 30 minutes will be talking about non-guitar related stuff! Some students are just easily distracted...not looking at anyone in particular, of course

But doing this for me seems to be equally at guitar and non-guitar related stuff. Its so that all of us have a good time, right, be it hanging out with the friends or learning how to shred.

Since I really like LA, why not meet at Alex's place...saturday next week maybe?
I think if we all wanted to get together in person everyone would have to travel. But maybe someday it'll be possible.
Until then, anybody travelling to/through the southwest of Germany is welcome to stay a few days at my place

I have a few acquisitions to make in the following 2-3 months (new pickups, vocal effects processor, wireless unit for guitar, in ear, monitors and the list won't stop) BUT..BUT after this, I am seriously thinking about having some money put aside for wherever the GMC meeting is held

I am down for it also, as long as we plan it ahead and give everyone some time to arrange the travel..

Last year I went to London for a trip and had to apply for a 6-month visa twice because I was rejected the first time

I live in the capital, and getting here from the airport is not a big deal. Much affordable and I don't think any of you guys would be rejected for visa.
We'll play during the day.
And then hijack a different restaurant every night and eat up all the food. (Indian food is awesome
) Its gonna be a food paradise here.And Ben, you can have Dimsums/Momos too

Adding 16000 more people to the city won't be much of a problem. There are as many migrations almost every week.
