Hiya Leedbreak,
I like the Softone soundbite intresting chord progression some potential there. Should have my setup sorted soon so I can join in on building some more cool tracks.

Hiya there,
Finally managed to get my pc sorted and software back on and running
Here is that riff I promised dead easy but catchy the sequence is
E5/C5/G5/A5// E5/C5/G5/A5// E5/C5/G5/A5// C5/C5/G5/E5//
Let me know what you think

Just had some ideas for Faith
Ideas for lyrics to chorus against uploaded backing
In times of struggle we hold on to each other
In times of happiness we laugh together
In these times it’s easy to fall apart
But we have faith in each other hearts
Let me know what you think

I'll convert it to mp3 later
Oooh on a roll here
Check this out a bit AC/DC (might even be one of their riffs I'm not sure lol!!)
Here it is 120bpm chords are Em/G5/D

AHHH, dude KILLER stuff. Will have a ball playing with these, super job.
No need for the mp3 I will convert if needed. Now can you seporate the drums and music and post those two files, if we need to.
Did you make a software purchase?
Posted by: Crazyfret Oct 23 2008, 08:12 AM
No not made a purchase it was one I already had called Riffworks. I'd thought I'd lost all my registration for it when my hard disc packed in on my pc, but had all my registration confirmations saved in an email!!
I can post the tracks without the backing drums I'll do that tonight after work.
Glad you like them sure you'll have fun

Cool, BTW that sounds like a VS song not an AC/DC song.

Well, I stuck on an intro. Lots of mixing to get something to land on your rhythm, and fit. However, it went pretty good.
Still just ideas but :20- :40 is top 40 stuff, freaking rocking man. Oh, and your lyrics might start at :43
Had Lots of fun with this tonight.
faith_with_an_into.mp3 ( 639.29K )
: 406How about recording a track with the same rhythm and drums but ending with bridge of a few slower chords, but still in time. Might work to hit E5/C5/G5/A5// as before but then a few slower chords of your choice to bring a change.
One not yet discovered.
Hey I like that sounds cool!!!
I'll record the riff again without any backing and figure out a change to add to it at the end.
Keep rocking

Hiya Leedbreak,
Been working on Faith a bit more and I come up with an ending to break the riff.
The chords are E5/C5/G5/A5/C5/D5/G5/F#5/E5.
On the 2nd track I added a double tracked guitar part over a E5/A5. Not sure if it goes with the main riff but I'm just throwing ideas into the mix.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers
ps having trouble uploading files gonna try tomorrow

Here we go got the tracks uploaded now. I can separate the layers if you want me to so you can juggle them about or ask me to record certain parts etc.
Was wondering is it just us two now and should we put feelers out to see who we can recruit?
Posted by: Crazyfret Nov 5 2008, 11:54 PM
I've come up with a chord sequence for a possible new song.
Check it out
105bpm chords are Em/Cadd9/Em/Cadd9/Em/Cadd9/D/Dsus4/Amin7/Cmaj

Sounds pretty good. As far as recruit, I will leave that up to you. Feel free to ask around. It is much slower with just us but it will still come together. Dedication is always an issue with more people.

Nice, I will pay with all of these over the weekend and see what happens.
PS:
when ever you do split the tracks how about posting all pieces even if one is just the drums. This way we can both write over the same drums making timing no longer an issue.
BTW:
Happy B day

Happy B dayThanks Leedbreak must admit was feeling my age last night and fell asleep on the sofa about 9 o'clock!!!
Sure I can can post the track as separate layers. I think it easier to sequence them using your software as the one I use is a bit more of a sketch book for ideas. Might have to invest in one for the future.
I can also export riff tracks as an .ogg file if that makes sequencing easier for you.
Keep rocking!

Well for starters, I started over. Would love your drums alone to help with all timing, mp3 is fine. And would love one extra bridge with maybe you coming out of the original rhythm some whole note chords.
Below we have a new intro, with same top 40 change then I play with you in parts, then back to the picking. I still can't help myself but to play over the whole thing but these are still just ideas. LOL, I guess I ideaed a bit much.
Mix still a bit rough but geting better fast.
If we venture back to lyrics maybe the original rhythm is chorus and the picking is verse?
Musical is always cool too

: 314BTW the in the city one will be next it is nice.
On the MP3 I have myself to loud is the second picking part, just saw that but I am going to bed, too late.

Hiya Leedbreak,
I'm really impressed with the arrangement. I like your ideas as well.
I'll upload the backing drums separately and the guitar parts too for you later.
Craig
EDIT: Ok been busy tonight and here are the following files
I've recorded the harmonized guitar part as it didn't sound right but its good now. I've separated the tracks a mp3 files so you can juggle them about but let me know if you want them together if you wish.

Hiya Leedbreak,
I've made a mistake on by putting on the wrong bpm on the drum track it should be 101bpm.
Sorry for any confusion

I'd thought I'd drop this little tune in here after messing about on my guitar last night. Its unusual as its quite upbeat and 'poppy' sounding !
Anyway it reminded me of long summer days and driving so I called it Summer Drive lol
The lead is a bit ropey but it what came into my head at the time.

Ok more updates. Intro is in stone now I believe it is done. Nice mix throughout, till the end anyway. I put your acoustic picking part as the intro to the intro. lol
And it comes in again later
I Have started to get some clicking in I guess my sound card. I need to know if you hear it once posted? I think my card adds it in when I play it back but it is not putting it in the render. I hope

Well, Morning to ya! (Offer good for 12 hours. LOLOL)
As we all know this is a learning process. What I was thinking is that someone could take the 11_26_08.mp3 file as it is now and write a drum track just for the existing bridges. If these bridges were clean now, we might be ready to leave the music and pick up a note paid. I have mics and can record. I sing in the praise team at church but only as a group, no solos for me yet. But if either of us can sing the other can back up, it will sound good.
I know you are better equipped for mixing the song. So, I am open to all ideas.
I mix as I hear it. You can tell I took a lot of time to get the first few changes to work, but this should not be necessary if the changes were clearner.

Well I work on knocking the track into shape in the next week or so so all the changes from the intro, verse & chorus are smoother and then we can put all the fills etc on top. After your efforts we now have a structure to the song
.
I'll keep you posted.

hey Craig.
Since we are so close to having a finished song I am going to do some more mixing and clean it up a bit this weekend. I would like to see you post a solo or two to put in over the main rhythm so it is not just me soloing. I think we can call it a done deal if we had that and I clean the rest up a bit
What do you think?
