all the lessons here seem to be pretty short any chance of getting lessons longer than 30 sec?

The lessons tend to be longer than 30 seconds especially with all the seperate parts added up. 30 seconds is all you need to fit in a technique like sweep picking and then you have the 8 or 9 videos explaining how to do it slowly. I'd say they are an ideal length. Usual in the style of vids are longer which makes sense also.

Well IMO though it would be great to have a 13 minute prog epic lesson- i dont think this is the idea.

I think the idea is to get ideas from each lesson and try and put it into your own playing.

And think how long it would take the instructors to make: long video with no mistakes (may take several takes with editing also), each lick/section explained slow in each video. Big long backing tracks with diferent speeds.

I think the way that some instructors do lessons in the theme of something like a series that is more benefit than just one lesson that lasts forever.

Ofcourse there are some lessons that last 1:30+ , but if there is a specific lesson you want done (and looked at in a slightly longer lesson) you should probably ask an instructor specifically.

edit: typo

You might be able to ask someone to do a lesson serial like Kosei Kubota did on some bach preludes(3 long lessons that go together) but for example 13 minute prog lesson would be like 300 separate vids man, A LOT of work.

yeah, I'd like to write a complete song (4 minutes aprox.) and divide it in small lessons, but it's really difficult... I supose that when I have more time I try it, I have this idea in my mind !!!! smile.gif

totally agree with Deeproots and Muris here, Deeproots makes a great point about using the lessons to build your own playing.

Theres actually very few lessons that I sit and learn note for note, obviously some that just appeal to me as a player and a challenge (lets face it all the lessons are awesome!), then for my own targets I do it, but in general I look at the techniques etc quite often to look into the theory behind the lesson is a great way to get ideas for improvising smile.gif

And i will add: it's not about how long the lesson is, but what you get from it smile.gif Sometimes 30 seconds lessons are much harder to learn than 5 minutes lessons smile.gif

60 secs is a good lenght for a video... Of course if the video is longer it's always nice, but I don't really think that it's necessary smile.gif

we finally agree on something. it is morning here, so no way of verifying that the moon is blue. but I am sure it is.

the lessons seem about perfect in length to me as they are.

I'm only new here but I have to say I would prefer lessons with a bit more explanation in them.
