GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ I Cant Find The Right Tabs!

Posted by: Braer Nov 22 2009, 09:45 PM

Hey! Im trying to learn far beyond the sun and i think the chop in the start is to hard. I have seen other players play it in a different way.

This is the way i play it:
||------13h14p13p10-------------------------|-----------------||
||o-----------------14-12-10----------------|----------------o||
||---------------------------13-11-10-------|-----------------||
||------------------------------------12-11-|-9---------------||
||o-----------------------------------------|---12-11-9-8----o||
||------------------------------------------|-----------------||

This is the way i want to learn it:

At 0:16

Does annyone got tabs for this chop?

Posted by: Emir Hot Nov 22 2009, 09:50 PM

I used to have original tabs from Yngwie's official tab book. Every note is spot on. Try to find it on Amazon if you like Yngwie. It's worth every pence.

This is how I played it on my exam at school.

Did you play it like this:
||------13h14p13p10-------------------------|-----------------||
||o-----------------14-12-10----------------|----------------o||
||---------------------------13-11-10-------|-----------------||
||------------------------------------12-11-|-9---------------||
||o-----------------------------------------|---12-11-9-8----o||
||------------------------------------------|-----------------||

?

I have almost been playing it for a half year and i still cant get it right.

Here it is:
||------13h14p13----------------------------|-----------------||
||o-------------------15-14-12----------------|----------------o||
||-----------------------------14-13-11-10-------|-----------------||
||---------------------------------------12-11-|-9---------------||
||o--------------------------------------------|---12-11-9-8----o||
||---------------------------------------------|-----------------||

One small addition here - to display the tabs properly, just wrap them with code tags like this:

CODE
||------13h14p13p10-------------------------|-----------------||
||o-----------------14-12-10----------------|----------------o||
||---------------------------13-11-10-------|-----------------||
||------------------------------------12-11-|-9---------------||
||o-----------------------------------------|---12-11-9-8----o||
||------------------------------------------|-----------------||

I hate when that happens, your sound just turns off, for some reason, been there,

good reaction though,

No problem, Braer! smile.gif
I just used my eyes and my brain in order to figure it out. Took me 1 minute. Just take some notes to other strings in order to create 3nps patterns with position shifting index finger. wink.gif

Thanks for the hint, Ivan! smile.gif

I see no chords here smile.gif Only bunch of Malmsteen/Gilbert licks. Mostly harmonic minor and phrygian dominat scale.

Thanks you so much guys!

That´s simple. Just A minor harmonic. The chords are:
Am, A C E (I degree of A min)
E7, E G# B D (V degree of A min)
Bdim, B D F (II degree of A min).

The two last chords have dominant function (this means, they tend to the root note which is A. In other words, after such chords you have to play Am or F in order to get a resolution.) and you can interpret them as one chord: E7b9 (E G# B D F). You can see that the notes of both chords are included in this one chord.

Not too complicated? smile.gif

If you want to learn some theory, I suggest Andrew´s fantastic lessons on his board. If you don´t, just remember the chords. laugh.gif

I would suggest using Audacity for figuring out fast chops. In case you don't already know or don't already have it, it's a free program that allows you to record music and edit tempo and pitch and all other things. (it can be found easily on google.) For really fast licks, Sometimes I even slow it down 40 or 50%! What I like is slowing it down has absolutely no effect on pitch. All you do is upload the mp3 into Audacity, click on the track to highlight it, and go to effects and click slow down tempo and pick how much you want to slow it down by. If you slow it done more than about 50% the sound quality is going to be pretty terrible of coarse haha tongue.gif Sorry if you already knew about all this, just trying to help out! smile.gif
