Hey! Im trying to learn far beyond the sun and i think the chop in the start is to hard. I have seen other players play it in a different way.
This is the way i play it:
||------13h14p13p10-------------------------|-----------------||
||o-----------------14-12-10----------------|----------------o||
||---------------------------13-11-10-------|-----------------||
||------------------------------------12-11-|-9---------------||
||o-----------------------------------------|---12-11-9-8----o||
||------------------------------------------|-----------------||
This is the way i want to learn it:

Does annyone got tabs for this chop?
I used to have original tabs from Yngwie's official tab book. Every note is spot on. Try to find it on Amazon if you like Yngwie. It's worth every pence.
This is how I played it on my exam at school.
Did you play it like this:
||------13h14p13p10-------------------------|-----------------||
||o-----------------14-12-10----------------|----------------o||
||---------------------------13-11-10-------|-----------------||
||------------------------------------12-11-|-9---------------||
||o-----------------------------------------|---12-11-9-8----o||
||------------------------------------------|-----------------||
?
I have almost been playing it for a half year and i still cant get it right.
ok:) thanks. I see alot of people playing it the other way, strange i cant find anny tabs!
Maybe here you find some good tabs:
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/y/yngwie_malmsteen/far_beyond_the_sun_ver4_guitar_pro.htm
they are all the same
Ozielzinho also play it the way i want to learn it.
Here it is:
||------13h14p13----------------------------|-----------------||
||o-------------------15-14-12----------------|----------------o||
||-----------------------------14-13-11-10-------|-----------------||
||---------------------------------------12-11-|-9---------------||
||o--------------------------------------------|---12-11-9-8----o||
||---------------------------------------------|-----------------||
Use every first note of the strings your index finger.
One small addition here - to display the tabs properly, just wrap them with code tags like this:
Thank you tolek! Where did you find it?
Maby to much to ask for, but...

I see no chords here Only bunch of Malmsteen/Gilbert licks. Mostly harmonic minor and phrygian dominat scale.
He plays Am, E and G#dim:
--------------------------------
----10---9---12---10-------------------
-----9---9---13----9-----------------
----10---9---12----10------------------
-0---0-----0------0-----------
--------------------------------
--------------------------------
----10---9---12---10-------------------
-----9---9---13----9-----------------
----10---9---12----10------------------
-0---0-----0------0-----------
--------------------------------
--------------------------------
----10----9----12----10-------------------
-----9----7----10-----9-----------------
----10----9----12-----10------------------
---0---0-----0------0-----------
--------------------------------
--------------------------------
----10----9----12----10-------------------
-----9----7----10-----9-----------------
----10----9----12-----10------------------
---0---0-----0------0-----------
--------------------------------
Thanks you so much guys!
what are the names of the chords? what key is this riff in? I really like the sound of it.
hehe, thanks. To complicated for me
I would suggest using Audacity for figuring out fast chops. In case you don't already know or don't already have it, it's a free program that allows you to record music and edit tempo and pitch and all other things. (it can be found easily on google.) For really fast licks, Sometimes I even slow it down 40 or 50%! What I like is slowing it down has absolutely no effect on pitch. All you do is upload the mp3 into Audacity, click on the track to highlight it, and go to effects and click slow down tempo and pick how much you want to slow it down by. If you slow it done more than about 50% the sound quality is going to be pretty terrible of coarse haha Sorry if you already knew about all this, just trying to help out!
