Does anyone know if Guitar Pro has the ability to display a list showing the chords in a song file?
I know you can bring up the fretboard under the view option so it shows the chord name and fingering as the tab file plays but it would be nice if I could just select an option and it displays all the chords used in the song.

Any idea?

Go to the bar where you want to put chord, press "A" and the chord dialog will appear. Choose/make the chord and that place in the bar will be labeled with chord name and in the beginning of the score it will display shape as well.

Hmmm... I tried both of those earlier but what it looks like is a chord reference window that allows you to click on the chord and it plays and shows the fingering. What I'm looking for is when I open a GP tab file I want a list of all the chords used in that specific song/file.

I did a bit of Googling and it looks like I'm not the only one wanting that feature. Apparently GP doesn't support it yet.

But it has to be added in by the tab creator correct? The information has to be inputted by someone. GP can't "read" the file and present a list of chords used in the song.

I see what you mean. There is no such feature. GP cannot create chords based on the notes it reads.

It would be nice if the tab creators included a chord list of some type like what Jesse is referring to. When I was a beginner I thought GP was so cool because it showed the fingering. But once you know your chords and notes it actually becomes a hassle to use GP as a means for learning the chords to a song. I usually just end up using Google to find chords to a specific song.

Yeah, that would be indeed a nice feature. That would lead to some acquard progressions sometimes, but it would be definitely something that would be a very useful thing. Perhaps they will integrate some arranger module in some future versions, I would be very happy about that.
