Hi all,
not really sure to whom to adress so I do a common request. I try to figure out the folk stuff that Arlo Guthrie plays in his song Alices Restaurant. At least the people of 40+ should know what I'm talking about This is over and over again the same few bars on acoustic guitar. Can anyone help? I found something on TAB sites but it seems to do not match exactly (or I'm too dump to play it right) Any hint? Roland |

That's a cool fingerpicking song.
I never heard it before, thanks for sharing! I checked it on Youtube and tried to transcribe it rapidly. I's not exactly that, but think it's close enough. He does use a capo on the 2nd fret... Play the bass with your thumb... This is the repetitive verse part: ![]() Here's the Guitar Pro file for that too:
Alice__s_Restaurant.gp5 ( 1.78K )

I'll try if I can make it work. If you didn't know the song I suppose you don't know the movie "alices Restaurant" either where Arlo Guthrie plays himself joining a hippie group in the sixties. It's alot of fun have the chance to watch it. Thanks again Roland |
