I've used 3 Brands
Monster Cable - Average cable nothing special but I got it on sale for a decent price lasted like 2 years. Planet Waves - I've owned 4 still have 3. My first one had a weird jack tip on it and it locked in and you had to hit like a button to get the jack out. I use I believe its a 3ft cable it is about a 4 gauge wire shielded quite well payed around $40USD for it. It goes from my head to my cabinet, it cut down a ton of noise for me. Mogami - I'm still using it and I like it, not sure what it did because I bought it with other new equipment. It did cost me an arm and a leg tho. I want to say I spent $80USD on it. -------------------- Guitars:

I use regular cables, as in not expensive, and not crap, cables.
I'd thought about getting a 40$ cable, but what good would that be, since it would go straight into my boss TU-2, and then signal goes through a LOT more regular cables before reaching the amp. And I'm not in the mood to buy 2 large expensive cacbles, plus four very short ones, to connect each stomp so... Tone is in the fingers. That's why a cable won't help me -------------------- Guitars:

One very important thing to look out for when buying a guitar cable is its capacitance. The cable actually acts as a low pass filter. A higher capacitance will result in more highs being rolled off. Every foot of length of the guitar cable will increase its capacitance. For clean tones you want the lowest capacitance you can find. With a distorted tone a very low capacitance cable may not be the best. Of course, tone is completely subjective, so ultimately you'll have to choose which one works best for you.
You can find some very good cables with low capacitance for a good price. A good example is the one made by none other than Bill Lawrence himself. -------------------- He who laughs last thinks slowest. Top quality cables and kits can be bought from Lavacables. I'm coveting their Retro Coil guitar cable, but I've got some decent cables made for me that haven't crapped out in 3 yrs so I have no need at the moment
