Absolutely true, I never liked thin strings cause I was never avle to get "my" tone with them, if you want a thick and fat sound you need thick and fat strings, you don't have to be fat yourself though tongue.gif

Stevie Ray Vaughan used heavy string gauge : 0.013, 0.015, 0.019, 0.028, 0.038, 0.058 - tuned down a semitone, but what a thick tone ! biggrin.gif
