I would like you to start by getting use to those shapes and when you will be learning them try to call out notes it will help you to master the neck better!

You did a great job!!! I would like you to add this exercises into your warm up routine! Do it daily and you will see results very fast!

I think you did a fantastic job! Very well played! I would suggest to keep it less busy in the beginning and build it up gradually but it sounded pretty good the way you did it!

Wow you are absolutely correct!
I like the whole tone scale idea over G7#5! You can also do E harmonic minor it will work great!
I would like you to do a take and record a solo over this track! I would like to hear what you will come up with before I will give you any ideas!

ok I will see what I can come up with note: not sure why I did it but just noticed I changed your C6 chord to Cadd9 when I spelled it out lol oops

You can play 9 there as well as 6
C6 will be C-E-G-A
C9 will be C-E-G-D

ok this were I need work playing through changes as an improv im sure I could write something but improv is very difficult when watching the changes in other words I guess i can say it I just cant play it yet.

You did very good! You have a good technique and a very nice touch! I have a few suggestions
Try playing less! It is a very common thing to play too much when you are learning to play over the changes, it sounded insecure like you are scared to loose the key and fall out! I would suggest to use more chord tones third and seventh work great! Try gradually build your solo! I really liked you rhythmic ideas on the second part! Good job!
So here is a new challenge! I would like you to build the whole solo on chord tones! You can use any octaves but limited with the third and seventh! Try it out it will change the way you think and will open up new way of improvisation!

You can use any octaves of the chord tones:) So you are limited! Actually let's also add fifth!
So you have Third - Fifth - Seventh any octave!

Attached is what I have been working with I really liked just using the chord tones to practice so made a sheet to practice through out the week. also changing from chord tones only to scales to licks tapping string skipping changing note values etc I assign one technique or idea to each chord or maybe just two over the entire progression I also spell each chord in the progression im using for the day skys the limit really you get the Idea take a look and see what you think and if any suggestions please let me know.

Wow! This is impressive!
You are doing your homework! What progression are you talking about exactly? The one I gave you?
Chord tones are really important! It's like building a house chord tones is the foundation and the rest you are building around it!
I would suggest to get good at chord tones first I have plenty of exercises that will help you!
Let's start with the chord progression I gave you! Just use chord tones only though the whole tune you can use any octave but limited to chord tones only!

P.S. Next week I will join you and will be recording tracks as well to give you ideas!

I will be explaining a new theory subject once a week or every other week and will be giving assignments based on it!
Theory questions (will help me to get a better idea where to start! )

- Build A7 chord

Im still here been really busy lately and now having trouble setting i/o up in pro-tools 10 with 11R using spdif driving me crazy
