Can Someone Explain This Tab Notation To Me And How To Play It? |

And if it was played open it should say -0-
You can always pick one string with your ring finger if you don't care to mute the string in between. I'd rather find "my" way to play something than trust tabs which too often are incorrect anyway. Though some things are impossible to find out, I know  -------------------- My bands homepage

A lot of jazz - particularly early George Benson, Charlie Christian and Tal Farlow - involves double notes on non-adjacent strings. You can either finger pick it or use a combination of pick and one finger. The non-fretted string in a doble note - assuming that this is the case here - isn´t meant to be played, muted or open.

Just place your index finger to upper string, and your pinky to lower. Since it didn't show what to do with the middle string you can either play it open or you can mute it with your side of the index finger while fretting the upper string

You can use hybrid picking there, or you can just mute the string. It won't make a terrible difference if the muted string is being heard, specially on hi-gain settings.
