Well, here is a man who needs no introduction at all !!

Not only is dime one of my favorite guitarists, but he is one of the best riff writers in my oppinion, who knows the meaning of a good ol fashioned heavy metal riff smile.gif

Of course here are some videos!
Dimebag Darrell Solo's

Pantera - Domination
Pantera - I'm Broken
Pantera - The Art Of Shredding
Pantera - Cemetary Gates

While were here, what do YOU guys think is Dime's Best Riff / Solo?

Mine would have to be Domination, Walk, and Cemetary Gates for Solo's, and riff wise id Pick, Mouth For War, Drag The Waters, Revolution Is My Name, and of course, Walk again.

Cowboys From Hell is my favourite.
Solo and Rhyhthm.
The riff of Walk is very nice also, but I like Cowboys From Hell more smile.gif

And a question: How did he die?
Its a pity, that all the good ones die so young :/

The art of shredding was a bit of a cop out.

But I love everything on Vulgar Display Of Power. smile.gif

The man never wrote a bad riff in his life so this is a difficult choice but i have to say I'm Broken, Cemetery Gates, Cowboys from Hell, Mouth for War, The Art of Shredding, Walk, Breathing New Life, and Soul Bleed are great riff songs. As for solos I feel like they are all great and can't choose. They all have their own specialness to themselves.

Dimebag was tragecly shot to death by a man named Nathan Gale at a concert while with Damageplan. His motive is still not set in stone but many people (Including me) believe that he was an unstable Pantera fan that was upset by the breakoff of Dimebag and his brother, Vinnie Paul. He was shot in the head and then was shot with the rest of the clip. Nathan continued on this rampage until officer Niggemeyer shot him with a shotgun. Niggemeyer won the Policeman of the year for this act. Dimebag died doing what he loved, shredding harder than anyone else. Here is a video of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Oa3vJrBmu8

Cowboys from hell is my favourite Pantera's song and my favourite Dime's riff. But every Dime's riff is perfect. The guitar work in Pantera's albums was sooooo great.
Thanks for the links.

Glad to see we have some good ol fashioned Dime fans here.

Off topic, but has anyone seen or heard zakk wyldes "In This River"?...God i love that song, there is a link to it in my signature, my favorite song from Zakk, although i cant get through it without tears though, still the solo in the live version is unreal.

My goodness I feel the same way. I get all choked up too when I hear it. Wylde did a great job on that. He also plays it with a Razorback that has his signature bulls-eye graffic on it. Man I miss Dime.

The last thing Wylde and Dime ever said to each other was how they love each other.
