High end martins are great, same with Taylors. Also, for NICE acoustics....check out Collings guitars.

For a great high end sound on a budget, check out the Epiphone Masterbilt series.

I also like the acoustics Takamine does. Some low end, some high end guitars from them.

I have a Dean exotica koa acoustic. I wouldn't consider it a high end guitar, but I love mine. I think its got a great sound/quality for the price range.

2nd plug for Lowden. I've had one for years and it is one of the best high end acoustics around.

Also Guild and Gibson make some nice ones as well.

After hearing this, I would have to say that I fancy Lowden as well:

It sounds so good.

I did own a Lowden F 34 custom made by George

Koa Cedar bolt maple

very fine and perfect made instrument

i didnt played it oftenl , all those years - no real time and feeling wink.gif

and when i decidet to go back into guitar i chose electric way of guitar playing

thats why i changed the used Lowden agains a new Düsenberg 49.

For accustic stuff i use a Ovation Celebrity now .

The one who got my Lowden now is real happy with it and honors it smile.gif

Dieter

I'm not sure if George is in possession of the Lowden brand any more, there was some legal stuff and changes a while back.

I will investigate

You are right Posterboy but its a time ago .

Must been sometime in the 90s

George loves to
make real handmade guitars of course with a high price rage around 4000 DM and more

and that time lowden factory build lowden guitars in a cheaper price range on machine that time around 2000 DM

thats how i know wasnt in George mind or philosophy.

Any way here a link to George

http://www.georgelowden.com

ah and i think a company named Avalon took over Lowden factory !?
