If downloaded the GR4 and it seems to be cooler than the previous version, you can notice that on the presets. There are too many good things like the simil sequenciator that allows you to set some effects like the Whammy or the Wah Wah...really awesome.

I cant say anything about GR4 but I have used GR2 and 3 and they were good but when I recently bought my first real amp im never going back to guitar rig. It has alot to offer but to me thats a downside.
I tend to play with the sound rather than play the guitar |

It has alot to offer but to me thats a downside. I tend to play with the sound rather than play the guitar Nah, personally I also like "the real thing" better, if one ever had your feet on a stage and got that kick when the pants starts to wave around your ankles (of course You have to wear -70's pants like me thou) along with the first chord, then You know what I'm talking about. It's like trading Your girlfriend for a bad movie from the 80's. But hey, there are situations where this software is useful, and as i wrote in the WIKI, what goes in comes out. We guitar players seems to be too pickernickety about sound, instead of actually PLAY. The guitar & the amp is nothing but a tool, its like a microphone for a singer. The point is, that if You take a great guitar player (like Muris for example, he uses GR3 for some lessons) and a great guitar - this software will sound tremendous. On the other hand, I've seen really good players play some piece'o'junk and it also sounded fantastic. I guess its just a matter of how You use the tools available, great music is not gear-dependable. //Staffay -------------------- ![]() Guitars: Ibanez AM-200, Ibanez GB-10, Fender Stratocaster Classic Player, Warmouth Custom Built, Suhr Classic Strat, Gibson Les Paul Standard 2003, Ibanez steel-string Amps: Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, Marshall JMP 2103, AER 60 Effects: BOSS DD-20, Danelectro Trans. Oh Guitar Rig or any digital modeling amps are really for recording quickie stuff (at least for now). Its quite impossible to record the real amp without spending much or having recording gears. GR3 doesn't sound bad though. Its come a long way since I used some other modeling amps before. REAL thing is always better. You can't beat it.
Its all personal choice. Even not all like one particular tube amp. This post has been edited by maharzan: Oct 11 2009, 08:58 AM -------------------- Checkout my YouTube & my band Nissim's YouTube channels.

I am a late starter on gears. and I have been through digital modeling and just starting the tube world. I know how much hassle it is. Fortunately, it does have a direct recording option.

Thought I'd share a new patch I made called DARTH VADER DUET. Big gain with an octaver to boot. The mp3 doesn't do it justice. Give it a whirl.
