Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi mate, good job with this excellent lesson by the master Ben.

You are on the right track and I can notice that the lesson is really helping you to train this fundamental technique. The slower vibrato is very good but as soon as it becomes faster (starting at 00:27) I notice some control and rhythm problems. This issues will be solved with more practice, because your left hand need more training. I can say that your right hand motion is very good, you are centering the movement from your wrist and that's what you have to do to get the correct technique. So now it's time to focus on the faster vibrato in order to master it. It's not something that you will master in a day or two, it needs some time to get used so be patient and keep on practicing this every day.

Congrats on taking vibrato technique seriously, keep on the great job! wink.gif

Hey matey smile.gif we have already discussed this one in your mentoring thread, so I will only underline and support Gabi's observation about time. Articulation in general, involves a lot of time spent on learning how to feel. It's not a technique that can be trained like alternate picking or legato, but it's more like an soul-to-ear-to-hand thing - if it makes any sense smile.gif I think feeling it is the best way we can put it and in order to feel it, you need to understand your body and the dynamics of your left hand. The more you work on these articulation lessons as diligently as possible, the better.

Keep rocking!

Cosmin

I thought you did a great job here man. The main focus of this lesson is to develop a strong vibrato and you are on your way to doing just that.

The little things to deal with are controlling the string. Make sure you let it return to its original pitch in between 'vibrations' so that it doesn't sound out of tune. This only really occurred at 0:39. I think you noticed it and corrected it from then on.

So that's my only advice.. to make sure you're allowing the note to still sound in key whilst performing the vibrato and the key to that is returning to pitch in between bends. Nice work, keep it up !
