I have just one question - why is the GMC and senior member guitar the red special? At least, I'm pretty sure it is. Just curious how that came about

Time to announce the next GMC Senior Member...
KANEDA ![]() Congratulations! Kaneda has shown evidence of exceptional knowledge on many music/guitar related topics. Not only that - he is also working on giving us a highly advanced and costumised flash scale application...hats off for Kaneda! You might also notice that we aren't completely consistent with the three month limit, the decision here was however very easy! Also - it is good illustration that we want to choose the GMC Senior Members on merit, not because someone has been around for a while! Believe it or not, but the first thing Kaneda replied to my pm was - "no that's not fair, I haven't been around for three months yet!" Kris -------------------- I do not have any natural talent at all - you can beat me with hard work.
Check out my video lessons + Kris & Marcus collab KMC Metal. My latest songs: "Mittwoch", "A Loner", "Red Shot", "Brutal Bump", "Love Me" . Kris & Ben Collab: Second Chance, Shadow Of The Ninja |

Congratulations Kaneda!
Very well deserved -------------------- "Fact is, nothing in the world bores me more than gear...If I played thru your rig, I would still sound like me. Van Halen would sound like Van Halen. Brian May...etc. Very early in my career I decided to focus on creating music and not being a guitar tech. Being a good guitar tech is a very different and extremely difficult job, so why not leave it to a pro?"

Thanks Kris and Andrew - and everyone else
Another thing that made it not fair was that I didn't even know about this "award" until Kris messaged me about it... So I'd better also say congrats to MickeM and The Uncreator - both of whom have like a googolplex more posts than me (did I miss anyone? In that case, congrats too any other "seniors" too And yes, "Other side of the coin" is very much a cliché - except to me. It's a very specific Sandman (the Neil Gaiman comic) reference which has stuck with me for almost 15 years, very much fits me in countless ways, and was also the title of the first song, very personal and very outthere, that I wrote for our band. Might end up in the upload section when I end up actually being able to play it on guitar myself Someday I'll learn to keep my posts short too (and learn to do things right the first time, rather than constantly edit).
