Iron Maiden For Beginners, Lesson By Gabriel Leopardi |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Iron Maiden For Beginners by Gabriel Leopardi
Hi GMC, here is my first try "Iron Maiden for beginners" from Gabriel... It is the first time I've tried to record the sound and the video seperate. The last days (weeks) I spent a lot of time in "How to record?", "How to make a video?", patches for my first effect board Pod HD500X, link between Pod and Laptop, and and and. I think every one of you knows how much time is "lost" for things like that. But now, it's time for practising...:) I know it is not perfect but I need a feedback from the instructors to improve my playing... Regards Chris |

Hi Chris! Congrats on your first guitar video!
I know that this takes some extra time at first but it is totally positive to be able to create own guitar videos. At first to let us (and also yourself) monitor your progress and then to develop your guitar career. When posting videos at REC program, the tempo required is the normal tempo for the lesson so I'm not able to grade this take but I can give you some comments about your playing. In the future, you can start threads at the forum to share your lessons in progress and share here videos when you are able to play the lessons at tempo. Your playing on this lesson is better compared to the audio that you've sent me via PM. Your timing is much better, and I can say that the main problem here is that you are not comfortable with alternate picking at the faster sections. It's a speed limitation that will disappear with alternate picking exercises. You can take ideas from this program: LINK Once you are comfortable with alternate picking and speed, you can focus on dynamics to give this a more organic sound, but please focus on the AP first, and keep me updated. Cheers! -------------------- My lessons
