> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Ok great, the 16th notes are sounding a bit better. The speed aspect of them you are fine with... the clarity and consistency could be improved now. As you play faster, your consistency fluctuates a bit so now I think you can start practising with picking lessons that demand you to play at a slightly higher tempo.

One thing you can do now is use this same backing track but play 16th notes all the way through. Or just try playing it part of the way through. The goal is just to increase the time spent playing 16th notes. The more you do it, the better you'll get. So instead of waiting for the very end to practise them, you can practise them as much as you want. Use the same notes, just pick them as 16th notes instead. This will help your timing, picking consistency / tone and stamina.

Hi Rhida!

Good job! The 16th notes are much better on this take! However I note some timing issues appearing in the triplets section. It's difficult to go from 8th and 16th to triplets because the groove feels different. Remember to pay attention to the timing in that section and be sure that you are going tight with the drums.

Keep on practicing this lesson, focusing mostly on the 16th section, the triplets but also working on the transition from one rhythm to the other one.

Cheers! wink.gif

Hey matey,

Nothing much to add here aside what the guys already pointed out - the main idea is that it needs more time practicing and focus on the triplets, 16th notes and the transitions between the different rhythmic subdivision sections.

One thing that I usually do when I need to stay in synch with what I have to play, is to think about what's next, in advance and be sure that I can control my body so that it responds as i want it to. That means that you should be able to play this piece - and any piece for that matter - as close to perfection as possible at a lower tempo.

Focus on these aspects and you will surely succeed!

Cosmin
