GMC Forum _ GMC Virtual Bands _ ***announcement, New Vb, Cold Truth***

Posted by: Canis Apr 15 2009, 08:39 PM

Here we are, Skenny, and we decided for the name "Cold Truth" ^^

Let the Virtual-Banding begin =)

First off, I just wanna post some stuff I've made, so the rest of the band knows what I'm "capable of", so to speak, when it comes to making backing tracks. I'm using AddictiveDrums to make these, and when we get ideas, I'll go right ahead and make drumsounds when we agree on speed and feel.
Of course, I won't use any bass in the tracks we make, since our own Karl will use his mojo ^^

(Yes, if you're as geek as I am, you will recognize this as a video-game theme tongue.gif )

 Fear5kort.mp3 ( 1.3MB ) : 329

I'm of course capable of going heavy if needed wink.gif

What up guys, i recorded some stuff, but wasn't able to put it online yet cause some formating problem. But once i figure it out ill get it on here...

@Canis, those are soundin pretty good...

Posted by: Karl-ss Apr 16 2009, 05:59 PM

and do you guys have MSN? and any recommended recording software?

Posted by: Canis Apr 16 2009, 06:25 PM

I do, it's alex dot ottesen at gmail com
If you wanna write it here, do it like that so bot's don't snatch it and send you advertising for medicine tongue.gif

I use http://www.reaper.fm/download.php for recording. It works great as soon as you figure it out, and it's "free-to-try" as long as you want.

Thanks ^^
The Fear5kort thingie is original. The Wizards and Warriors is a cover of a old nintendo theme song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZ9xwkMr3e4&fmt=18 ^^

How's it going with you guys? Getting recording hardware and software to work? =)

Im still figureing out this camera, when I record its a real dull sound that all that comes out.....Maybe ill have to settle with that, and if you can tweak it using any program that would be good...

Posted by: Canis Apr 21 2009, 10:20 PM

I'm not sure I'm able to tweak it.. Or atleast, I don't have the skills... Yet tongue.gif

Im finished with my presepts... tongue.gif but would you preffer a sustain, really distorted metal or a clean bass tone?

We can change it up, whichever feels more right for whichever song or mood, or whatever were trying to do...

So, do you feel something in this first raw draft?

A small melody and rhythm just dropped into my head earlier tongue.gif

This isnt the best, but sync it with the drums and violin and its kinda cool. Its in G Harmonic Minor Drop D by the way

I don't think I was able to sync it up all the great, since I don't know exactly where you started, etc. But the harmonics when the drums kick in was badass! tongue.gif
