Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Guys

Same set up as before Gibson Les Paul Studio into ux2 into reaper using webcam for video.

Couple of notes missed and I hit an open string in the first tapping lick, I know I can play it better but I keep messing it up when I hit the record button! Its like recording fright or something! any tips on how to play better when you feel under pressure?

Thanks Guys

Alex

I'm not sure what happened here Alex,
you have very descent technique imo but you had no sync
with backing most of the time, timing was kind a bad!!
All those faster runs are tight notes like 16th, 16th triplets etc,
there are no "random" shreddy lines,
you have to work on them VERY slowly with slower backing (let me know if you need any),
locate starting point and end for each of them.
Now, another thing that caused problems was maybe bad monitoring,
sound of backing was too quiet compared to your guitar
and then you lose timing here and there.
Tip, when I record in studios per example I always
want to have backing like 30% louder than my guitar,
helps me to stay with the groove all the time, give it a shot. smile.gif

Great take, and well played. It sounds rough on the faster parts, but with some fine tuning I think it will be OK. Excellent job mate.

Good take, but you seem to be in a hurry on this spesific recording. Try to follow the beat more closely.
But all in all it was good! This isnt the easiest lesson to play smile.gif

For the lesson difficulty this is good however I think you still need to work on it to get it all perfect !
