If you know power chords you're 90% there in my opinion tongue.gif

Yeah, and the other 10% are the high notes of barre chords played with the ska rhythm(with ghost notes after each chord).

Cheers,
Hristian

Pffft, it's 30% power chords. laugh.gif And so is metal.
As for the chords played to a ska rhythm, how many lessons do we have on that? I realise it is pretty close to funk, but it has a totally different feel. It's a cool way of playing, and would be a cool topic for a lesson, a ska rhythm verse, and power chords for the chorus section, would be cool for beginner-intermediate players.

Actually I did screw up, I meant to put this in Gabriel's board, I love his lessons, he's a very versatile rhythm player, and he seems pretty open to styles not generally liked in the internet guitar community, I also think he's the only one that has done a sort of punk lesson.

Yes it would be really good to have some lessons on that because when I came to think on it I got all the ska playing from a friend who taught me the basic stuff but in GMC we don't have such lessons. So it would be good to have some for those who want to get into that style.

And one addition to the request. It would be best to have more lessons because ska has changed much in the last 60 years. So there would be best if someone made a little serie about ska
First Wave, Second Wave and Third wave.
First Wave is the pure black people type of ska. Second is when the punk is influenced by ska and the third wave is kind of SkaCore. Kind of Hardcore Punk but with more bright feeling and with brass section.
So it would be great to see this stuff in lessons :]

Cheers,
Hristian
