I have some experience playing the guitar. I am mostly self taught and took lessons for a short time. I am having difficulty figuring out what I should learn next to better my playing.

I can play all my major and minor chords and know how to play the C scale (in different positions). I have been mostly learning how to play songs I like (that aren't too difficult) using guitar pro and power tab. What lesson should I start off on and move on to afterwards?

I listen to a lot of UK bands but I love solos and when people shred.

I guess I'm the kind of guy where people tell me what I should focus on instead of finding something.
Is there anything in particular that I should focus on?

edit: I should add in my overall goal. My overall goal is to be able to listen to a song and have no problems learning how to play it or improvise.

How about focusing on some "In style of" lessons ? Also start working on Pentatonic scale (minor preferably) and some Soloing lessons. If you are looking to expand your knowledge further I would definitely suggest visiting Theory Board and reading trough Andrew's lessons.

It would be great to hear your playing (audio and/or video wise) before giving you more advices (as you may need technical lessons on muting, legato, alternate etc)

Hope that helps !

Once I fix my stupid guitar (strings buzz when playing so the bridge needs adjusting) but I guess I can try and record some of my playing.
Oh I joined a while back but took a break from this site because I took actual lessons but stopped (since the guy was two hours away and the commute to get lessons was horrible). This is just my first time actually posting on the board. I'm trying to get more serious about my playing.
