Iv been thinking of trying some out..

Anyone played any have any feedback i would love to hear about them!

I'd love to have a PRS if they weren't so ungodly expensive It's either that or an SE. SE's are pretty good but much much cheaper and made in korea. But for their price range they're pretty good.

I stay well clear so can't offer much help. None of my friends like them either. We are big Parker guitar fans for that kind of money.

Good enough guitars the SE's, neck felt a bit uncomfortable and chunky to me - compared to a normal paul sized neck.

Apparently the whammy's on the SE's go out after a bit too, but that could be remedied with locking tuners.

They are quite expensive though, you can get more bang for your buck!

They are definitely worth trying out. They have a beautiful tone to them (listen to Santana and Jane's Addiction)

...but...

They are massively expensive. IMO you would get very similar performance from a high range Ibanez (as to which one you prefer is down to personal taste).

Also, if you are going to get a PRS I recommend you have a good think before getting one with a tremolo. Most PRS guitars with tremolos do not have locking nuts. A lot of people assume that because it is such an expensive guitar that it is going to magically stay in tune with a trem despite not having locking nuts - they're great guitars but they are not magic!

If you are looking for a cheaper guitar you could do a lot worse than an SE.

SE is the cheaper models of guitars made by PRS.

I would also love to get a PRS, but like JVM said, they are very expensive, and the ones that I would like to get cost something like 3000 USD

Ive got a PRS, albeit an SE, but its a PRS nonetheless!

Its an amazing guitar, plays really well, but they're wierd creatures, are PRS's, you need to play one before you buy one, they're like marmite, you either love it, or you cant afford it


The SE's are your best bet, they are the best 'low end' guitars, hell, ive got one, and the Cradle of Filth guitarist has one, that cant be so bad after all

It's definitly worth to spend the money for a PRS SE. I tried some of them. I have a tendency to say that the quality for me is much better compared to many competitors in this price range. But as always, either you like em or not.

Is the Paul Allender model already available in the US or somewhere else ?

I play an SE hardtail and I can't agree with the prior comment that compared it to an Ibanez. I've played alot of Ibanez guitars and nothing they make comes close to the PRS, but thats my opinion. They are smooth like butter, I just had the action lowered and the intonation adjusted on mine and I have fallen in love with it all over again!! When I bought it, I had narrowed my search to it and a Gibson, but when I really sat down and played it, it was the size and smoothness of the neck and how it felt in my hands that won me over. That being said I have to admit I'm eyeballing a Fender strat 60's edition.......soooo sweeeet! If I can get up enough money I will sell my SE to get the Strat!!

There's a reason PRS are so expensive which is they are such high quality instruments. I believe that PRS are the best guitars in the world. My dream guitar is a PRS custom 22 or 24. Right now i'm eyeing the PRS SE Paul Allender. It's not too pricey (£400 - £600) and looks and apparently sounds sweet but i want to try one. I do wish they weren't so expensive however i guess you get what you pay for.

Do what I did, I went and tried out about 20 PRS SE guitars and found one that has absolute magic. It sounds better than 75% of the PRS guitars over $3000 and I paid 550 for it. I have other guitars I've bought that I've paid around 500 for that sound as good or better than 5000 dollar customs.

It's all a numbers game, go out there and play hundreds of guitars, literally. That is how you find the jaw dropping guitars (and if you get lucky you might find a cheap one :-)
