Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hey mate!

As far as vibrato goes, this one feels nice to me - the vibrato is wide and expressive, and with a bit more work you can control it even better - see how Ben executes it with wideness and then he rushes it a bit? That demonstrates his control over the technique. But as we have already discussed and I will also state this here, there are a lot of string noises which occur while the left hand executes the vibrato.

Notice how Ben's right hand rests on the bridge and part of the strings? That contributes to the noise control a lot - your right hand seems to be in the air most of the time and that's an important factor, in my opinion.

This is what you should focus on with this lesson, so please keep practicing this one for a while longer until you become acquainted with getting rid of the unwanted noises.

Keep rocking!

Cosmin

Hi Lester, you are doing a very good job with this one.

Cosmin has marked the same 2 things that I noted that you need to improve to master this technique. The first one is the control over the technique that lets you go with the song groove and add that rush that Ben is adding and the other is avoiding the extra noises that appear and make your note sound less clear.

If you focus on these two things you will be getting a 10 on this one. So keep on the hard work and let us know when a new take is ready!

Cheers!

Hi Lester. Wow, we haven't seen you for ages so it's good to have you back smile.gif

You demonstrate a good grasp of this technique. You've got the sideways motion & the pressure from the fingers. I'm happy to see that you're also using the other fingers to strengthen the technique.

As the guys have said, there's room for improvement on:

-Controlling the speed of the technique
-Reducing unwanted string noise

You can also make the position shifts a little smoother but overall this is a strong take - well done !
