No idea what to write so gonna start from 0.

Well, i have been playing for 2 and half years nows; if i had to rank myself i would say my skill is between 1 and 6, it depends on the area; for example i suck at sweep, i can do some musically noise when we talk about 3 string sweep, but beside that it's just noise noise, if you know what i mean.

when it comes to what i wanna play/achieve it's well, very hard to describre; i love music (pop;metal;rock;funk;progressive;experimental;post-rock etc,etc)
but well lazyness is part of my personallity and that reflects a bit on the practice and life; for example i hate hate hate learning solos is so boring, that's probably one of the reasons my lead guitar is weak.

Nowadays i have been practice; Rust in Peace and Holy Wars by Megadeth (trying to get that tight thrashin rythm/right hand) and Overture 1928 by Dream Theater and Overload by Bumblefoot (training lead licks with these songs)

Things i would love to play and i don't have much experience:C

When it comes to theory, i know the intervals, chords (major, minor, 7ths); Major and Minor(pentatonic, Blues) scale and i can mess around with Dorian mode a bit (My vocabulary sucks biggrin.gif), i know how inversions works but never actually apply it in my playing, about ear training , gonna start workin on Relative pitch by David lucas once again.

My main goal is to be able to play what i like/write and want and to have full control and awareness of my playing and those who surrend me : )


PS::C unfortunately i don't have away to record my self, thing i am trying to fix, i do however have the possibility to record some sound trough my roland cube, not in my the best quality but fair enough.´
PPS: maybe i can manage to record some videos after all, with the laptop camera.

Mate, you want to swim in deep waters which is a very good thing! biggrin.gif

If you could record something with the camera post it here, it would be awesome as I could have a look and listen - in that way things would be a lot easier, in respect to what we should start with and what we should insist upon in your training biggrin.gif

The quality is not that important, so go ahead and post something here and we'll make a lesson plan in order to get you motivated and obtain results - how does this sound to you my friend?

Let's pick your favorite lesson that you have learned in here at GMC - exactly as you are playing it at this moment and we can start from there smile.gif
I think it's a good starting point and it will help me see where you are now so, I'll have a clear idea on what we should tackle to get you blazing wink.gif

i might need your help with something if you don't mind, i have been fighting this dreadful lick ._.


the lick is at 100bpm, and it's been 3 days and i can't seem to get pass the 60bpm ....quite frustrating, i must say, i tried some "burst" at higher tempos, but when i go back to 60 :V pretty sloppy, start to wonder if my picking is really that crappy biggrin.gif


i will post a video of me playing it tomorrow!

Uh oh biggrin.gif Sounds like a nasty one indeed. Well, mate you need to have patience, I mean, give yourself more than 3 days smile.gif try and trick your brain into it. Grow 1-2 BPM a day, it'll take more time for certain but the brain won't feel the tempo shifts that bad, thus it won't go into 'Oh my god I can't do this' mode.

Let me know how it goes and show me the vid, I'm curious to see/ listen!

Is there anything else I can assist you with?

Hey Cosmin, sorry i haven't update things, but to be honest i haven't play much guitar, i am having one of those periods when everything seems hard as hell and frustrating.

Regarding your question: Is there anything else I can assist you with? - i don't know man! i truly don't, i pretty much have/want to improve in every area! from funkish; blues; metal; Rock; small phrases; scale runs; vibratos; bending; legato; eco pick alt; chords, phrasing vocabulary; composing (guitar, bass drums) ..........list goes into infinite .. so bring it on!

PS: first run in the video is at 50bpm the 2º is at 60bpm (far from perfect biggrin.gif)

Hey there smile.gif about the takes - there are small coordination issues, but if they will evolve without being taken care of, you'll end up with a problem when alternate picking.

You know, there are times when we feel like putting down the axe because nothing sounds good. I usually go do something inspiring and the urge to pick it up will be there in an instant smile.gif

Check this out:



I've seen this vid today and it made me feel incredibly good! Hope it'll have the same effect on you smile.gif

Regarding the stuff we can do, I suggest we start with rhythm smile.gif a good musician masters rhythm so first things first - which genre would you prefer? Rock/ Metal or Funk? I see these as building blocks, colored and fun to work with smile.gif

Well i am a huge megeadeth fan, i really dig Mustaine's Thrash Rhythms, but i also would love that rocky/funkys Nuno Bettercourt, but i never reallly "explore" funk..so my basic of funk skill are pretty much nonexistence.

Hey Renato! The idea is beautiful biggrin.gif I like it very much and I would like to help you out smile.gif

Now, what sort of groove do you have in mind for this? The rhythm is very important as well as the parts succession - I think that if we follow the course you have given it till now, it'll be suitable for a soundtrack more than anything else smile.gif

What do you think?

Well when i started to write this, i was inspired by Buckethead; mostly on his "electric tears" side; but i also wanted to create let's say "post.rock kind of climax" which i have no clue how to do it biggrin.gif

and yes a soundtrack sounds goods. Besides when i was creating the melody, i was always imagining a scene going on and the song following up.

well the scene is kind of childish and hard to describe biggrin.gif

Basically the first guitar is the Flower, who is stucked inside of a Cave; the Flower starts to play; and the Cave answer "Bends in 3-5 bars"; but then the Cave stops playing; and so the Flower does the same bend 7 bar; and they sing along and the Cave shows the Flower the Exit; then the Distortion guitar enters and the comunications betwen the Cave and the Flower gets Distorted, and then the Piano enters. the environment changes completely and the flower is alone;

The Flower is a man in coma; the cave is his subconscious who wants to save the man (show him the exit), but at the same time wants to kill him (making him stay in the coma)

ok! i had an idea for the structure of the song:

"Acoustic Part" - The talk with the cave:
"Distortion/Piano" - Man is lost on his subconscious: -Starts the buildup for the confrotation; - "yet to define how it goes
"yet to Define how it goes" - Confrontation
"Yet to Define how it goes" - Climax/Back to the acoustic main melody
"acoustic main melody goes on; but this time the tempo is increasing!" - the man wakes up again in the cave; cave starts to talk, he ignores; "tension starts to buildup! he run to the exit.
And we let the song finish unresolved; like an opening end

I want to avoid; too many repetitions (of ideas) but also not mega complex tongue.gif

hope this isn't xD mega confusing.

now i just need an epifani to start writing; and to be honest i don't have any idea of rhythm, sound or idea to go on..just this. dry.gif

Hey man! no trouble, no confusion wink.gif creation is a very complex process and orchestration, the same biggrin.gif now here's what I suggest:

1) I will figure out primary grooves to the things which already exist
2) You try and come up with the rest of the parts so we can groove them up as well wink.gif

Hey Cosmin; i am yet to tab this, but i had one idea.

instead of the fast piano lick, i would change to something like this.

Some feedback/scratch Effect, mean while the piano is playing this kind of melancholic melody and you have the guitar with high gain, but with no presence and reverb, like it's somewhere deep inside but you don't know where, doing these double stop bends, that would be like screams, then the volume of the feedback wave starts to increase *suspense* till it stops from nowhere, kind cliche suspense ambient ahah? tongue.gif!

this would go for the Man is lost on his subconscious part.

i am still have do create the piano, but what do you think?

But before i post, there's also another thing i fix. I notice that sometimes my left hand gets really tense up, while holding the chord and kind mess up when shifting.

Do you got any advice?

Yes mate! biggrin.gif practice the left hand separately - by this, I mean just shift through the the chord positions without implying your right hand over the backing track smile.gif the more relaxed you are when doing that, the better you will play when the right hand comes into play wink.gif

I was suppost to upload the video 2 days ago, but i hadn' had the guitar with me, BUT here it is. biggrin.gif

While working on this i realize something.
You see, it's been almost 3 years since i started this journey, and i actually had a teacher (awesome guy and player) for the first year, which i stop because i wanted to see Megadeth tongue.gif(worth it).
Thing is, he wanted me to be this kind of "neo-classic shredder", and i say yes, well because mainly at that time it seem fine; but with time i came to realize that....well i wasn't that much neo-classic guy, but more of a Experimental/Ambiet Rock/Punk guy.... i spend too much time learning things that imo i wasn't ready yet...and so i neglected alot of bases; (vibrato, bends, playing calm and relax, ear etc.etc)...i mega regret this.

i don't want to waste anymore time daydreaming of what i could be! but working to actually be it!

So Cosmin-Sensei!! i have away too free time to spend it only in one lesson! So Sensei give me lessons in every aspect (vibrato,AP, bending,Chords, even theory exams if u want to biggrin.gif)! and make me a better guitarist and musician.

Slowing it down and playing everything in perfect timing and as tight as possible, then gradually pushing up speed would be the ancient secret mate biggrin.gif trust your old sensei biggrin.gif

Good! the only problem so far beside my weak fingers for barring such, is the buzz on my guitar due the extreme change on the temp (me thinks that's the reason).gotto fix it dry.gif

you see, one month ago i start to notice that the tone in Low E was getting crappier and crappier, now it's really bad xD, guess old age didn't forgive on those little ones.

so my axe is stop for the moment, but we still can do stuff no-axe-needed related, me thinks ..

about the use:

Well the circle of fifths gives you information regarding identification of perfects 4/5 and also how many sharps/flats you can find in a Key
You have: Major keys on the outside and the Relative minors on the inside.

to be honest i am not sure if it's tendinitis, my father told me that, it probably was :/

Well this going for a few time now; i first start to notice when i had this kind of "beeing stab feel" in my forearm, it didn't really hurt but it was some how uncomfortable;
some times is my elbow, then it goes to wrist :/ and sometimes i don't feel anything at all, like it's all normal.

the pain isn't that big or anything it's quite tolerable, but uncomfortable as hell and i am too scared to make it worse by playing guitar sad.gif.

Anyways Cosmin, i need something to work.... give me something D:!

Ear training and theory are what you need smile.gif go see a doc first of all so you can have a pretty accurate idea regarding when you can start playing guitar again and under what circumstances.

Let's try this:

Task 1

Take the circle of fifths and figure out all the scales from C major to B major and their relative minor scales, by applying the major scale formula (w w h w w w h)

Learn all the notes so that you may be able to tell me for instance on the spot, which is the minor third of the C# minor scale

Task 2 Sing these scales smile.gif Against a backing track - is you have Band in a box (a software) you can work out wonders for your ear training. Let me know if you can get it and we'll go on from there

Hey mate that's good, but the one thing which I think you missed tongue.gif was using the circle in the following way: Start with C major and then with the scale generated by it's fifth - G major tongue.gif

Hey man! It is ok to do that - the enharmonic relations they are called and they go like this:

D# = Eb

F# = Gb

C# = Db

G# = Ab

Now as an advice on the scales written above, you should start transforming the scales once you have reached F# major. By that, I mean think everything related to Gb major instead wink.gif this will give you Gb Ab Bb Cb Db Eb F Gb instead of F# G# A# B C# D# E# F#. In the cases above I have used the seldom used Cb name in order to be able to write the scale instead of B and the E# instead of the F. They are used solely for theoretical purposes.

Theoretically they are making sense, although I would suggest that you don't transform things into that direction wink.gif try and switch to flats or sharps whenever you see that you will encounter these unusual notations.

Gb major is correct like that and F# major is also correct like that

Now, F# major would be a bit rare to encounter I recon tongue.gif so most probably you won't end up using E#, but it's important that you started to understand how the mechanisms are working wink.gif

Hi Cosmin, been busy with exams ._.; i will try and update everything this weekend.

Now, for a practice routine, I would go for a realistic goal - spending 4 hrs a day with your guitar is pretty much doable. I honestly don't believe that many people are able to spend 8 hrs a day playing guitar smile.gif even if everybody nowadays is running after the 50 hrs practice routine a day laugh.gif

Here's what I have in mind:

1) Technique - alternate picking/ legato/ articulation/ rhythm elements (2hrs - 30 minutes each technique)
2) Ear training (30 minutes)
3) Theory (30 minutes)
4) Applying theory (1 hr)

If this appeals to you, I will give you tasks for each part smile.gif

So

Let's see:
15-25min= warm up ( gonna use Todd's missions here)
30min= for Metal Metrics
"10min break"
40min-1hour= Ben's Vibrato
30min-40 analyzing songs at Gab
*10-15min Break*
30-45min= Theory
30min - 45 min = Ear training (singing triads is my current goal here)
*10min Break*
20-40min = Learning a favorite song
*break if i feel like*
40-1h =Applying Theory/Composing
30min = Finishing with Todd's missions again

Total time = 4hours ~ 6hours

still got to work on that vibrato from the main riff, i can "abuse" him while playin in slow tempos, but i tend to lose control when going higher.

Also i can't seem to get D: those harmonics in le 1ºfret and it screws up the tempo in my head.

man, as i've referred before ( i think?); my left hand is mega weak when it comes to barred special with my index finger and ring finger, around the G and B string (when it comes to chords) and in other situations, like barred rock'n'roll riff's and stuff; (remarkably i can barred better with my pinky finger than with my ring)

i know people would say, just train some chords that required barred, thing is, when i do it my thumb puts a stupidly huge hulkish strength mode on / and gets mega tense in order to make le fingers in the fret board ringing all of what needs to be ring. it kills me ._. i usually i tend to give up after like 2 min, and it frustrate me like hell (in those last 5 days i just picked the guitar to record MM4, ._. quite still frustrated with my failing on it)

even more than shred speed,etc ,etc; this is what i want to achieve/fix right now! :/

Thanks, so far i am okay. I have got my hand on le Guthrie Govan's Creative Books, so i have a lot of fancy stuff to work in!

right now i am training Chords shifting, and amount of strength that i use ( i think some of the pains in my arm, were due to the huge amount of strength that i used to use)
; also i ve been doing this cool exercise where i have 4 fingers in the fret board and then i have to move 2 of them without moving the other 2 D: and some legato stuff, still got almost 2 months in front of me, so i will work work:

Howdy Renato! Can you please give me an example? A vid or something? Not necessarily played by yourself, but I would need a contextual example to get it right. On first thought, it's just a matter of time and practice while focusing on the chord shifts and rhythms specific to the ska punk (I know, everyone thinks that this music is silly and easy to play, but there are some rhythms which are far from being easy biggrin.gif)

I can imagine playing 4 chords/ bar, having each chord change occurring on the second 8th note on each beat tongue.gif add a fairly alert tempo and you got a nemesis groove!

Am I getting close to your actual problem, or have I just invented a new one? laugh.gif

my main thing, isn't about the shifting:

When i have my left hand relaxed, my right hand is also relax and so i can't make it sound punky/metal aggressive; when i try to tense up just a bit to do some for example constant down picking, my left hand starts to tense too. and my thumb starts to tense like hell xD

Hmmmm, my advice would be to try playing slow enough that you can break down the connection between the hands: play with the relaxed left hand and punch in with the right. See, I played a lot, but when I say a lot I mean A LOT of funk music, which deals with syncopated rhythms and intricate right hand patterns - this helped me play almost anything rhythm based without too much sweat.

This is what I think you should do, but anyway, whatever you do, do it slow and observe the way in which your body reacts smile.gif

Let's see what sort of progress we get with this, eh?

for example when i am doing some funk strumming, like sixteenths notes in 4/4.

i am like: um doi tes quat, um doi tes quat, um doi tes quat, (this comes from, um (1), dois (2), três(3), quatro (4).

everything is fine when i am accenting for example the um, i go like UM, dos, tes, quat, Um, dos, tes, quat.
think is my derp brain mess up if for example, i accent on tres, it's goes like this, um, dos TES, um dos, TES, "mega lag biggrin.gif quat" like my brain forces me to go back...., got any tips?

Play the exercise above at a slow tempo and focus on being as equal as possible and balanced with the sixteen notes - play 'chuck'achuck' meaning that you only need to mute the strings and not play a certain chord, aye?

After nailing this perfectly, I will give you more funky stuff to do biggrin.gif and take your rhythm playing up the ladder.

It's only a matter of focus and practice, mate smile.gif

The first order of business would be:

Isolating 16th notes in a groove - here's an exercise:

Play an Am7 chord over a 4/4 time signature using 16th notes in the following way:

1) Play the first 16th note in the first beat and the rest muted over the remaining bars
2) Play the first 16th note in the second beat and the rest muted over the remaining bars
3) Play the first 16th note in the third beat and the rest muted over the remaining bars
4) 2) Play the first 16th note in the fourth beat and the rest muted over the remaining bars

The muted parts have to sound like 'chuck a chuck' laugh.gif You know muted strummed strings having that percussive effect.

Now combine exercises 1-4 in the following manner:

Play the first 16th note in the first beat and the rest of the remaining 3 16th notes muted, then on the second beat, play the first 16th note muted, accentuate the 2nd one by playing the Am7 and mute the remaining 2, then on the third beat mute the first two 16th notes, accentuate the third and on the 4th beat mute the first 3 16th notes and accentuate the last one.

This is a very good combo of exercises for pull offs, but let me know if you feel it is too easy for you, ok?

Regarding the funky business, the next step would be creating one bar rhythm patterns, using specific chords wink.gif

Let's take the E9 for instance (x76777) and try to play the following pattern:

1x3x x2x4 xxxx xxxx

and

1234 xx34 12xx xxxx

As you might've guessed, I have divided a bar into 16th notes and the ones marked with x are mutted - play them using 'chuck a chuck' while the numbered 16th notes have to be played, using the E9 chord.

Can you emulate these two rhythmic formulas for me? biggrin.gif Please let me know if there's anything unclear smile.gif

im still working on the rhythms, btw there's something that i also want to work, the theory behind the 7ths chords, i know how to build them, but i don't really know the proper name of each build, and for example if you play a C Major Chord you can play a D minor, a E minor so on, so on and it will sound good, but what about the 7ths? how do they fit in the whole thing?

All the 7ths are like that because you can only use notes belonging to the scale you are harmonizing, so they are falling into place like this smile.gif

About the harmonizing- yes, if you play the chords in that order, you will harmonize the scale using 7th chords which are always very nice sounding smile.gif

So far, i found that starting with the 3rd beat can be a bit trick than with the 1st, 2nd or 4th, and the hardest pattern that i have fought so far is a variation of 1x3x x2x4 it goes like this xxxx x2x4 xxxx 1x3x for some reason i find it tricky as hell biggrin.gif

Extract all the dead notes from the grooves and play only the 16th notes where you have chords smile.gif In the spaces where you had dead notes (the ones with X) you will play nothing biggrin.gif Just keep the silence and keep the groove in the pocket wink.gif

Hy Renato - I usually use them in the following situations:

1) I like their sound and I want a 2nd/ 9th to have a place in there for instance - so this is the case of embelishments
2) I find the minor chord too heavy in a certain progression and I want to lighten things up a bit, so I replace the minor quality with a sus2 for instance

anyways heres le funk, the traditional chunk chunk, and the no chunk chunk, there are some parts of the no chunk chunk that are a bit rushed, i also noticed a bug in my right hand, i tend to hit the higher notes more often then lowers, so i am not actually hittin the whole chord, got to work on that.

there is a lot of static, distortion, in the background, but i like it, it reminds me of those rainy dark days when u are at home next to the fireplace.

One of my favorite things in guitar with distortion is that moment at the very start and 0:36 where the notes clashing each other while we let then ring, i just like the way it sounds laugh.gif

Hey Cosmin ._. my right arm is really killin me, too much time gamin, and guitar...i think i might aswell take a week off to rest.
Since i don't really want to put myself in a situation of serious damange, i need to get some kind distraction, and there is one thing.

I would like to work with you on something, but i don't really want to eat too much of your time.
You see i have this like huge urge to compose music, i am always coming up with ideas, but never ..a song.
Dark, pop, epic, metal, i don't really care, i just have this thing inside....that i can't really to get it out, But... i am a noob laugh.gif , and when i try to compose it i can't put what i hear in my head without some experimentation, cuz well i can't translate it yet, what i hear...i mean, and so with that experimentation i got all mess up and lose the melody that i inital had, and end up givin up; other times, i have this solo, but i can't come up with a backin for it, a decent, interessiting backing for it, and i have like no clue about drummin biggrin.gif

i don't want to write a 20 min song, but if you could help me out, writtin a full song from head to feets while i am resting my arms, it would be a milestone, and i would apprecite very deeply much.

Yesterday for instance, we had A LOT of applications - each of them having a lot of mini techniques included...with small variations laugh.gif Imagine that after the training I kept Sensei for another 10 minutes to write all of them down and make sure i got them right biggrin.gif

Basically the 3 main techniques were Suihei, Naname and Shita... but each of them had about 2 applications so hell broke loose..

:lol, i would like to dive into the kendo (is it correct to call it that?) world, i always admired the discipline!, but i just don't have the time, maybe in a near futurem who knows.

Any who here is well. something awful, it's bad and i should feel bad about it laugh.gif you probably gonna yell and make me do some hardcore punishment task.

Me doing random rhythms to one of your drum loop track. The end is always...meh, i still get lost, i don't know if my first beat is like the 3rd laugh.gif or if i am just complety out.

Some little new update regarding the Ben's Lesson

even though, it centers the point in the right hand, i am actually using it for my left hand, due to the chords shapes changing and stretch's ones.
i have yet to manage to play the F#add9 100%..it's like around 60%-80% plus 10000% of tension tongue.gif.
Thing is, i actually noticed some improvement in certain zones that use to frustated me, well they still do.

Relax mate wink.gif My advice here: Try that add9 shape upper on the neck and gradually go towards the F#add9 shape - your fingers will be more and more comfortable with the shape and they will not feel abused, as they are probably feeling now when you try to force them into that position straight forward

Hey Cosmin! sorry for my low activite, it has been a stressful week, almost lost my guitars...and then catched the damn cold so i am all like dead man walking.

anyways, i have some ideas for the collab, i just need to find the damn jack to connect my amp to the laptop; the lessons still pain, i also add a new "objective".. actually more kind of a restriction, i have to record all rec takes while stading up! a 10 while sitting on a chair is as good as a 0 tongue.gif

Entry 10092109321 - Yesterday i spend some time watching TV and having my hand stuck on the neck of the guitar while in the ********* chord shape, there was some slow progress, some less tension, but still...there is some things that aren't really good.

More practice needed before rec yet...


Also i still have to find the damn thing to connect my amp into the pc to do some recording for the collad.

what i find difficult in all chords, the damn barred stuff. (my fingers are too goddamn weak,especially my 3º and the middle of the bottom of my index)

Well usually since my barre skills sucks, i try to arrange the notes in differents ways ,so it becomes easier to play.


For example instead of

Or i play it relax but some mutes (B,G string) fail.
or i do mute them but there's a crap a lot of tension, and i usually stop.

Dat B string is like hell for me.

Thing is, I struggled with them myself but at the very beginning back in 98-99 when there were no other distractions such as shredding and such laugh.gif

i have no idea. I use to jam with friends for hours, so coming with stuff on spot isn't that big of a deal, of course my technical part still restrains me from doing X things, and welll coming with solos in the spot is something different, pretty mediocre in fact.

One thing that makes me worry, it's my equipment. It isn't really that great, i mean i have manage to do a successful guig with it in a small bar for like 30-40 people. Don't know if they are expecting me to have like 4 story high boogie setup.

Thing i know about them, is that they are hoping - they want- to start workin on a EP in 2 months.

I have a question!

So i was studying Time Signatures and stuff.


All the: 2/4 where you have two beat each bar , each being a crotchet, to 3/4 4/4...so on, but then i came across the 3/8 3 beats each one being a quaver, it makes sense, But then 4/8 4 beats being each a quaver.

Now 4/8 is basically the same as 2/4, it's the same length the only difference is how you count the beats.

MY question is, why do we have these 2 variations? why don't we like just simplify eveything to one?

Same goes for 2/2 and 4/4....and so on, so on.

Hey Renato,

It's all due to the fact that we have various pulses - the quarter notes, the 8th notes, 16th notes and so on provide various pulses in a rhythm so, if everything would not be differentiated, we would not have any idea about what sort of pulse we would have in that specific type of time signature.

See, in here the drummer accentuates beats 1 and 3 with the kick drum while playing 2 and 4 with the snare, everything being backed up by the hi-hats playing 8th notes. But it's still 4/4 because he accentuates 4 quarter notes in the bar smile.gif Am I making sense?

Whoa dude, I say you did a good job with the hand synch - you can take it to the REC and see what the other guys have to say tongue.gif And the Thrash Metal lesson is almost great biggrin.gif You messed it up in a small degree in the part starting at about 0:27 - no sweat though - it's a difficult one and with a bit more focus there you can get it sounding perfect. I can feel you being a little stressed out in general, because you tend to lose balance - NOT TIMING - but balance - you rush imperceptibly little biggrin.gif But it will be perfect once the RED LIGHT fever will be gone smile.gif

somewhere next week, they still have yet to tell me the day. i am actually not that nervous at all laugh.gif, but with not that much of hope. I bet they seen guys who play 100x than me, so i will just go there and try to have fun and don't make too many mistakes.

The fact that you are not nervous is good and it is not smile.gif Keep cool but do not relax in such a way that you will lose attention over what's going on around you - being too relaxed does not help. Musashi says you need to be calm but determined smile.gif

guess you are right. is just that deep inside there is this voice that tells me, you are far too noob for such thing biggrin.gif, so i have kind mentalized myself for the option of not gettin to be chosen.

Wrong! smile.gif It is good to always keep in mind that the learning never stops, but you have to be determined if you want to achieve something! My best friend, came to Bucharest when he entered college - he was a talented guitarist, but NOBODY ever heard about him. He entered a competition to win the spot as a guitarist in a famous band here. He was competing against people that had 10 times his experience and who were very well known all around. Guess what? HE WON because he went there and behaved as a pro, plus, he was and is a hell of a player.

This was happening in 2001, we became friends in 2006 and we first talked about our band together in 2008 and in 2010, we formed Days of Confusion, ARIA back then smile.gif

Ai ai man, i've been doing some movings (some of the things actually weight 3 times my weight and i am skinny dude you see) and stuff..and since i haven't move my butt from the sofa in a while, my back and arms feel all sore and tired sleep.gif

i did record some videos for the rec, but i didn't enjoy any of them, so yeh i end up with 0 work done, also i think i have catch a cold ...

Anyways, talking about vampires, swords and afro dudes, if you know any cool show/anime or not anime, i would appreaciated very much biggrin.gif

I think i should get some fitness thing rolling, i used to run in the morning b4 school, but my mp3 or whatever people call them nowdays broke...and i just dislike running without music rolleyes.gif.

and yes i have seen Samurai Champloo! really liked the art style biggrin.gif

I usually listen to music on the street when walking and I dislike not having my player along for the ride smile.gif Don't use the lack of music as an excuse! biggrin.gif Get to it and get yourself into shape. I for one, like to know that I can use my body whenever I need to, so I am trying to keep it in constant shape smile.gif

Io Cosmin, how are you doing?

Well it was a major bummer, they found "the dude" before my audiction, they said they had this awesome chemistry, and the dude has also some experience in studio, so i was like.. "okay (sadface)."

Anyways i will start a coverband project in 2 weeks, we already have some stuff to work on. it might not be as fun as in the original one, but they (covers) this time are quite challenging, (we have from Modern Metal to Blues/souls Kotzen stuff).


Meanwhile i haven't did the rec takes yet, because ..well i lost all my picks ._., been fingerstyle for a week now sleep.gif, BUT i have located the sweet spot for Barre Chords on the first fret, now i only need to work on Thumb Tension. In general (chords playing) my thumb is under way too much tension.


i also might not be as much as active as i used to be, school exams are starting.

Hey Renato, sorry to hear that mate - well, you can be happy that you did everything that was in your power smile.gif You had a lot of good practice and I am sure that the time spent doing that will pay off sooner or later in one way or another - it's always like that mate!

Say, I have an idea - would you like to have a few backup lessons, which deal with finger picking - as I notice that you lose the pick quite often? biggrin.gif Great to hear that you are faring well with the barre - I will keep waiting for the take though!
