Todd asked me yesterday during live webcam to post some pics of my guitar, well here they are :

It's an Ibanez rg550 made in Japan in 1997
serial is F970421 , the color is called pewter. ( it like metallic green/silver)
the pickguard looks silver but when a light shines on it, all colors of the rainbow appear on it ( mirror I guess)
the pickups are S1, v7,v8 but Im thinking about buying a dimarzio tonezone. There's a floyd
rose on it , I thought it was an low pro edge but I am not sure about it.
Im the second owner of it, I received it last year. The only thing that were replaced when I got it
where the strapscrews.
body : basswood
neck: superwizard

now Im looking for the desert yellow rg550 that I like actually way better looking, because im not fan of sharktooth inlay
but the sound is just awesome haha when someone knows where to get one pm me please ; )

Greetings
Marc

Woah she's a beaut, still looks in brand-new nick! Drools a bit, I meant near-new nick, there's a little drool mark there on it.

I would like the 89' RG550, feels sweet, but I would also replace the Pups with Evos. The original pickups to be honest aren't that good, Evos sound so more powerful with that basswood, it's like they where designed for it! Then your got the best of both worlds, just remember to keep the originals as well.

Nice Axe! There was another post referencing a review of another killer vintage Ibanez Axe that I just saw in the forums.

Here is the GMC WIKI on the review. Very similar to your axe!

Here is my reply post with a pic of my Ibanez RG560 (A rare HSS model) and a pic of Jani (from Sonata Arctica) and one of his RG550s (with newer hardware and wads of customization).

They recently reissued the RG550 line and even the Desert Yellow model smile.gif Here is Paul Gilbert talking about his love affair with the guitar.

Hey Marc, that is a beautiful instrument! smile.gif

It's always cool to get a "old" guitar with pedigree smile.gif
