I have some experience playing the guitar. I am mostly self taught and took lessons for a short time. I am having difficulty figuring out what I should learn next to better my playing.
I can play all my major and minor chords and know how to play the C scale (in different positions). I have been mostly learning how to play songs I like (that aren't too difficult) using guitar pro and power tab. What lesson should I start off on and move on to afterwards?
Hey, what kind of music do u like? And do you have some techniques you want to improve?
I think you could try the lessons between level 2 to 6.
I listen to a lot of UK bands but I love solos and when people shred.
I guess I'm the kind of guy where people tell me what I should focus on instead of finding something.
Is there anything in particular that I should focus on?
edit: I should add in my overall goal. My overall goal is to be able to listen to a song and have no problems learning how to play it or improvise.
Thats always great to hear, I mean I love to hear when people get serious about anything yet guitar playing is whole other thing
How are you with rhythm guitar ?
Most guitar players prefer solo to rhythm guitar. Whats your story on that?
There is some good rhythm guitar lessons at GMC , you might want to check that out as well.
If you like classical music and want to learn fingerstyle playing, check out Dejan's, Vinod's and Gerardo's lessons - they are all great and will teach you how to play without pick trough exercises, scales and pieces.
Check out this plan that I've made, it may come in handy when making your own strategy.

Hope it helps mate, cheers
the lesson plan looks like a great place to start.
The story of rhythm vs solo for me is that I started to learn guitar around 2001. I have been on and off when it comes to playing. When I got to the point where I can play songs, it was all just rhythm. I want to move beyond that and with the internet (especially youtube), I watch a lot of people soloing and shredding and tell myself, "I want to do that!" I also love songs with guitar solos.
It's a great way to show off I guess
@Backfire
It sounds like you need some technical, soloing shred lessons
Check out Emir, Muris, Sinisa, Aleksandar, Iain, Ramiro, Lian, Gabriel, Marcus etc ... They all have great technical and soloing lessons!
would the MTP (Mentored Training Program) help? I'm not sure just kinda throwing that out there.
