Hey mate smile.gif

As an overall, it is good, but you could clean it up a bit and become tighter. Also, you tend to lose a bit of balance - but just a tiny a bit in spots such as the passage beginning at 0:17

I say, polish it a bit more and then we can move forward!

Hey mate - it's not about tightness in that part - it's about balance smile.gif the idea is to be as balanced in all the gallop part as in other parts where it is obvious that you caught the grasp on the piece smile.gif Don't worry, this is only a matter of practice and getting 'in the groove with the piece' This will be a result of a time spent in playing it and focusing on becoming as groovy as possible. smile.gif

Hey buddy - timing wise it's good, but the playing could be cleaner especially in the palm muting sections wink.gif Around 01:08 there was a slight hesitation and the guitar seems to be out of tune.

I think that we can start working on a new one, for the sake of keeping things interesting, but you need to fix the things I suggested for this one. Also, lowering the gain a bit could help out with cleaning up your playing. What do you think?

Alright! How about this one? smile.gif

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Disturbed-Style-Riffing/

Focus on tightness and clean playing for this one - the tighter you are, the better it will sound biggrin.gif

Hey mate,

About the first recording:

You have great timing and you play very clean! That's an EXCELLENT plus wink.gif Now, I would focus a bit on smoothening the vibrato as it seems a bit off and rushed at points and maybe checking the guitar's tuning - please make sure to check it every time before recording, ok?

Also, your left hand movements seem rather large - please focus on moving less, as this will definitely decrease the potential tension which would appear at high speeds.

The second recording:

Your picking technique seems very relaxed and in good timing, as well as with good dynamics - picking evenly, that is smile.gif I would also focus on decreasing the movements as in the previous case!

Mate, thank you very much for these recordings - I think it's by far, the best way to work, because we can spot potential issues befire they become too complicated to fix biggrin.gif Keep rocking!

Hey mate! smile.gif

Thank you for the recordings!

Well, after watching the videos, here are my conclusions:

- the Beginner Etude - you are playing it well, but you have timing issues, in respect to note length, when it comes to phrases involving open strings and pull offs - such as the ones around 0:08-0:09

Please focus on those to make the sound even and then implement them back into the context, as this is the only issue with this lesson at full tempo, as I see it smile.gif

- the Alternate picking workout smile.gif Your AP technique is very good, but your vibrato needs a bit of work, as it's a bit too weak right now. Please make it wider and more accentuated, without rushing it, of course wink.gif Your tone could have a little, but just a little bit more gain and brightness. What are you using to record for the tone?

You are faring well, my friend - all the above are details, which need to be sorted out, in order to have takes that strive towards perfection. Do we have a deal?

Hey there man! Welcome back to the thread wink.gif

I've watched the vids and I must say that you are getting really close to having perfect takes!

In respect to the Beginner Etude:

- the open string pull off section in the beginning is a little shaky and there's a missed note around 0:44

The alternate picking workout - I think this one can go straight into the REC zone biggrin.gif Great playing here mate!

Let me know what your thoughts are and I will recommend further practicing material, once we get the Alternate Picking Workout into the REC zone wink.gif

Thank you Cosmin! The most difficult thing it's timing when the bpm goes up smile.gif
What do you think of learning some of these lessons?

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...-picking-chops/
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/modal_...tring_patterns/
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Bens-Land-Of-Legato/

i'm not planning to reach full speed in the alternate picking lessons but i will be happy with learning them at low speed..

Hey buddy smile.gif

The lesson choice is a very good one, in respect to the purpose of getting them done at a lower tempo but as clean and articulated as possible! I would begin with Ben's lesson - this one is far from being an easy one but it can be done at full tempo. What do you say, shall we begin with this one?

You will bump into the tricky position switches with this one, while you need to keep a constant tempo, note length and maintain equal volume in each note wink.gif
