So was watching the music video for "You Only Live Once" by Suicide Silence and I thought, "This is insanity! I wonder if there is anything else like this?"

Sadly it is real... but yet somehow it is also a pardy of the scene too ! For me, it's the 'go to' video of choice when I want to show something ridiculous !!

I think this video is so funny. A couple years back my friends and I used to watch this and laugh all of the time!

Suicide Silence I feel are different. Is there a lack of a real lead guitar? Yes, but I feel that they actually try. You can even tell during their shows just by the energy that they give off.

Don't put so much energy into something you don't like listening to. No matter how hard you hate, people will still love it, and the more you hate it the more it will frustrate you that people like it. Just ignore, in this case apathy is your friend.

I don't really attack/judge people - just the thing it's based upon - in this case:

Suicide Silence (Suicide and suicidal attempts) - Yes, this maybe against it in order to break the silence. However, that video clip show people including kids going nuts shooting. I can only help consider the gunman killing 12, wounds 59 at 'Batman' premiere in Colorado. If the target audience is completely unstable, then that would just make it worst and the slipping point.

YOLO - You Only Live Once (so just go f**king nuts) - A stupid motto that countless teenagers live by because it gives them the excuse to be promiscuous, commit crimes, drink underage, sex, do drugs and deny responsibility for their actions. Basically throw away responsiblity and go do stupid things.

Plus I have little respect for people that create their own depression, self harm, hate, suicudal thoughts, and other problems - learn to deal with it. Sure it's mostly a cry for help and I'll be happy to help. However, most is what people put themselves into, when people dwell on it and never attempt to try let go - instead to fuel upon it, they are just going to keep digging themselves deeper.

Maybe they are trying to help, but I can't help think, it's leading people up one road and down another...


The Black Satans much surely be a joke? They can't be serious in that one! lol

Not that I like Suicide Silence in any fathomable way, but for extreme music in general there is something that pretty much no one outside the listeners seem to grasp. The anger, the violent nature, the darkness, the horror, all the "bad" aspects of it are not a promotion of it.

Evergrey has an album called "The Inner Cirlce", which has a story that is so emotionally draining, so sorrowful, so intense and even depressing that to understand it on its deepest level is to know personally that sadness, the darkness, the depression. And thats exactly why its brilliant, exactly why its extremely healthy for the mind! When I was 14, 15, 16 - It was some of the most horrific times of my life, but listening to "The Inner Cirlce" allowed me to understand what I felt, to control it, and in turn kept me sane. These violent, sad, and dark themes are embracing the emotions that we as humans will have to face. Through the music you understand yourself, and the world, reality is no longer so horrible, because you can fathom it more clearly. These songs about depression, self harm, hate, and suicidal thoughts are exactly how they are dealing with it. In the wider metal community, I like to think we share the greatest pains amongst each other through our music to lessen the burden. Its something that once you understand, once you have been helped by it, there is no going back. It becomes you, and your personality becomes stronger.

And yes, the black satans are a joke.

I do agree with the YOLO statement (although this song was made before the whole YOLO craze). However, I feel like you are reading into a band name and lyrics too lightly honestly. No one is promoting suicide or whatever. The Uncreator actually hit the nail on the head with what he stated.

Stuff like this keeps kids sane. It is an outlet and lets some feel like they aren't alone in what they are going through.

ANYWAY this topic wasn't meant to be a debate about a band name but it was mean't for people to share crazy music videos.
