As far as I'm concerned, Audacity does a fine job with this.

Try it out, I can't be completely sure if it's good enough for what you need tho...smile.gif

If it's a mp3 you can do it in real time in Windows media player.(go enhancements and play speed settings)

or you can do it in Adobe Audition and save the slow down track for future use.

Maybe I can ask this question here. THe backing tracking that are part of the lessons, can we save them locally?

They seem to be streaming content and I didn't see where to download. I wasn't sure If I needed a third party app to do this?

I know how it can be done. Gotta check with Kris first though, since it's copyrighted by GMC.

But if he allows it, I can post a guide.

You cannot download backing tracks from lessons unless the instructors have provided them in the forum.

mattacuk said that he got a bt from the racer-X forum.  smile.gif

Thanks Vinod.

I was just curious how to get a good recording with myself practicing a specific lesson without having to use my webcab to pick up all the audio.

Windows media player will work to half (1/2) of the speed if it's in mp3 format.  smile.gif

You can do it in any recording program. Including Reaper I believe. Our drummer has done it before to show us how you can cheat and record stuff at half speed and double the tempo. He was showing us how Dragonforce record and it was awesome. Unfortunately he is a sound engineer and I'm a fool lol. biggrin.gif

He needs to be able to slow it down by exact amounts. So say he has bt at 120 bpm. He wants it at 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110 and 120. You can't do that in Media Player unfortunately. You can in a proper recording software suite though

Hey Matt, do you have Adobe Elements? If so you, can do it in SoundBooth. You can slow down the tempo in your DAW, but if it's a bid drop, it's going to change the pitch.

There are ones you can get, plug ins for sonar say or for reaper or what not that cuts the backing to slow and back to full and has no pitch shift. It was quite incredible when my mate showed me. I was shocked.
