Lead Guitar Metal Distortion Pedal

I play lead guitar, so the sound has to be able to cut through the mix at soloes (the rythm guitarist uses the krank pedal). So any suggestions? I guess that all depends on what you're using for an amp, what kind of distortion it gives you and your taste. When I play the heavy stuff like COB I use a couple of different pedals depending on what whether I am playing rhythm or lead in any particular set. I use the DOD Death Metal pedal for rhythm and the Boss Heavy Metal pedal (HM-2) for lead work. Both pedals are older models but sound great both through my marshalls and the pod. It has high and low filters so you can dial in piercing highs or crushing lows, pretty versatile for metal playing. Not such a good pedal for blues as it seems to be a very high gain pedal. It is a very full sound I think, you may just be wanting the very treble-y sound similar to Pavel's in which case the DF-7 is for you but I think for fullness of tone the muff is a better pedal.
