Hey everyone.

I'm heading over to Lake Head recording studio here in my hometown and my band and I are recording a song that we've been polishing for almost a year. I've just laid down a "test run" of the guitar solo, fully structured and completed. I wanted to know what you all thing.

I'm trying to portray: Anguish, Pain, Relentlessness, and Redemption

All comments, criticisms, and opinions welcome. Hope you like it

Nice harmonies, sounded a little fragmented to me though, if you know what I mean...A bit like different parts of different songs.

Ah, what do i know, YOU ROCK!

Thanks guys, that really makes me feel good.

What about the other 90 people who listened but didn't comment? Makes me think that they don't want to give me bad news sad.gif

I like it man! smile.gif

Watch the timing on the final recording. I thought the tremolo picking at the end wasn't as tight as it could have been. I'd like to hear the final mix if you want to share it.

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

Great composition, fix that guitar sound(doesn't sound good), few little mistakes(tremolo picking part in the middle)
But, the solo is perfect, great notes!

I liked it too, although it did sound a little fragmented at times.
If you make it "flow" a little more and tweak the sound a little, you'll have a winner smile.gif

Sounded pretty cool to me, very nice ideas in the solo. On my speakers I could hear only left speaker and it was clipping most of the time, but I presume it is just a work version.

pretty good overall,I might have let it breath a little more but thats not a fault on your playing. One thing I would change is the tone on your lead, sounds very digital and false.Again tone is a personal thing but if you recorded that on a good tube amp it sit perfectly with anything else in the mix.

Not sure what you used for it and I have nothing against the pod amps out there,I even play a vetta 2 rig in one of my bands but when it comes to recording its always tube amp/4x12 cab/sm57 and loud enough volume to push the speakers
