There are many different types of music coming from the Caribbean. First check out Sinisa's new lesson, "Around The World - Merengue", and then post a reply to today's topic.
Which is your favorite style of Caribbean music and why? Can you distinguish the difference between them? -------------------- I do not have any natural talent at all - you can beat me with hard work.
Check out my video lessons + Kris & Marcus collab KMC Metal. My latest songs: "Mittwoch", "A Loner", "Red Shot", "Brutal Bump", "Love Me" . Kris & Ben Collab: Second Chance, Shadow Of The Ninja |

Damn, did nobody reply to this ??
Hmmm, well maybe it's because they are like me, in that my knowledge of Carribean music is very minimal.. I couldn't identify any particular style, only Reggae. -------------------- |

I'd have serious trouble distinguishing between different styles of caribbean music. I always thought Merengue was a term for caribbean music in general, but this also is a certain style. Still I think knowing different kinds of music from all around the world is great, even if you don't really use these styles in your own music. But as a musician, one should always be open minded and listen to new things.
