Hi Davenport!! Welcome to your Gab's Army thread!!

Could you please tell me a bit about you, your musical tastes, influences, strengths and weaknesses? I would need some videos of you playing rhythm and solo guitar, so please post your best material here. If you have some music or ideas of your own, also post them here. Also let me know how you think that I can help you and what are your expectations for our job. You can check the other Army's thread to discover the different modalities of this project.

The principles of our Army are:

+ Improve your technique
+ Make music and solos
+ Have fun
+ Destroy the enemy (hahaha not realy just kidding... )

Hi mate! You already have a really good level! The Djent solo is fantastic, I can note some Andy James influences in your soloing. I can notice that your legato technique is very good, as well as your sweep picking, the alternate picking fast passages could sound more sharper.
What do you exactly want to work here? Technique routines? Composition?

Routine for practice as you said alternate picking could be sharper and Im sure there is more you will find as we go some times the flaws get hiddin in the backing tracks. I have a pretty good idea for picking excercises just takes time and always looking for small single or 2 string sequences. maybe you could assign me lessons based on flaws you find on each improv and give me your take on the improv for improving composition of the solo's. So to answer your question im thinking all three.

Cool mate, so what about starting with this lesson to see exactly what's happening with your alternate picking technique...?

Descending seems to be most of my issue not all of it but most of it.

Help with Daily routine:
We have 4hrs total to fill for a daily routine would like help to set that routine up and if you will help me work within that routine by assigning lessons or improvs. as we spot my weaknesses.

My theory is okay not much Jazz theory experience but a little.

techniques I like:
String Skipping
tapping
8 finger cant do at all . But i like it smile.gif when I tried I tend to only use 3 fingers on my right hand and keep a hold of the pick
Sweeps some are more chalenging than others.

Currently my routine is this, I also apply various techniques to all such as tapping, string skipping, and legoto.
I use a metronome and a timer to keep me from noodling as it is very easy to loose concentration.
Scales 1 hour
Arpeggios 1 Hour
Licks 1 hour
Improv. 1 hour

What do you think am I asking to much ?

Hi mate, the routines are the way to go for practice. I like the categories in which you divided your routine. I always used the Steve Vai 24 hours work out as a guide for creating routines. The categories that he gives there cover everything you should work. Have you ever seen it?
