Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi mate, good job!

The improvements are there. Your timing is getting better on this one and your vibrato is improving from take to take. There are a little details that you should fix in order to adjust your technique and also to make your overall playing sound smoother.

The first thing is your left hand movement. You tend to exaggerate the movement of the hand/fingers, and your hand doesn't look relaxed. It's important to focus on making your movements the smaller possible at this stage in order to polish your technique and make it efficient.
For example, compare how you move your hand at 00:06 and how Muris does it at 00:05. His movement is more precise and smaller, so the results is a more consistent phrase. This are the kind of details that you need to adjust, I feel that you need to re-educate a bit your left hand.

Another thing that makes your playing sound less smooth is when you play alternate picking. For any reason the notes are muted too soon. Maybe you stop pressuring the fret too early, or you mute with your pick hand just before you play the note... I don't know, but your alternate picking needs to sound smoother. Check for example that lick at: 00:38, it's not bad but there is room to improve timing, dynamics (it's irregular) and that thing that I've just described. Isolate these licks and work on them as a loop over metronome to make your picking more consistent.

I recommend start working on this lesson, using the slower backings: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...picking-thirds/

The two bends that you play here are also getting better but you obviously need to dedicate more time to this technique to feel more comfortable when using it. I recommend this lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Beginn...String-Bending/

Ok mate, I hope that my comments help you see how to continue your practice. Feel free to contact me if you need some more assistance.

Hi there!

Comparing to your previous takes we can hear the difference. Maybe it is not perfect yet but you're getting really close. Your vibrato does not go that far from the right pitch anymore bit it's still sort of unstable - maybe slightly too nervous for a mood of this song.

Your timming had ultra improvement comparing to 1st take.

0:18 - still having some problems to keep right pitch while vibrating bend note - try to add your left index to push the string same, as you do with left middle finger. 3 fingers support makes bending easier to be controlled - especially when you do the vibrato on a bend note.

Hi Sumit, I think we should encourage you to work on your fretting hand to gain more finger independence and a better reach. This will allow you to move more freely and connect phrases seamlessly with less noticeable breaks and pauses.

Take a look at this lesson but don't get intimidated. I only want you to learn the first part up until 0:12. Forget the rest. Just the first part. And you don't need to play it full speed. Just memorise the patterns and work on them very slowly.

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...inger-work-out/

I want you to concentrate on making sure that your pick hits the note at the same time that your finger frets it. So you are working your coordination, your finger strength and your reach. Not speed, ok?

I think this will help you and also give you a break from this lesson because too much of one thing can often prevent progress. Sometimes we need to go away from something to be able to go back at a later date and realise how much we've improved.
